The local food co-op offers a class on urban foraging which essentially looks like snatching fruits and veggies from peoples yards that happen to grow above or onto the sidewalk. I thinks that attitude is shitty and entitled.

that's interesting, tim,because the only context I've heard about urban foraging is finding out what wild, native plants that grow in cities are edible. It is kind of rude and jerky to me.

Cecile - yeah, I thought so too. This co-op's class has an aspect of wild, edible plants but based on the class description the primary focus seems to be foraging for cultivated plants that happen to be accessible in common areas such as sidewalks and streets.

We haven't tried Yakitori 39 yet - we'll have to - but I can attest that Yakitori Totto on the West Side is really good. After a fine meal of chicken knees and what-all else, you come out smelling like chicken smoke but happy.
