	9:13am Liz Berg: Apparently some FMU staffers went out for lunch on the Monday following either the Record Fair or the Marathon some years back and when the waitress came up to take everyone's order and saw a crowd of grisled, underslept, and overworked FMUers, she proclaimed: "Looks like someone has a case of the Mondays!" Miraculously she emerged from her shift unscathed.

	10:58am dc pat: I told the judge once that I don't recognize drug laws. He said something like "Well, can't you set that aside for now and listen to the case with an open mind?" I said "No, I can't" so he let me go..
	10:58am tim from champaign: I actually want to experience jury duty. I was called once but the case was settled at the last minute. I was genuinely crushed.
	10:58am Rev. Turnip Druid: That dizzy-spell jury-duty trick would never work here (DC) - they're legendary hard-asses. I think it's due to the very small pool of citizens (also explains the like-clockwork notices every 2 years). You would have to be actually physically on fire. And even then.... not a sure thing.

I am sure that be Wednesday my curiosity will turn to the utter annoyance that everyone on the planet seems to have. I've always thought it was funny that you could ruin someones otherwise good mood by simply saying the words "jury duty"

	11:06am dc pat: I was curious when I first got to town but a petty argument between some rich guy and a con artist just disgusted the curiousness right out of me.
	11:06am Chris from DC: I was foreman on a two-day trial. It was kind of interesting, but having to read the verdict made me pretty nervous.
	11:08am Liz Berg: I was all for jury duty until I sat on a jury: what a waste of time. Total B.S. case that should have been dismissed before they wasted 4 days of my life (and all the other jurors, too). Now I am despondent like many of you!
	11:08am Rev. Turnip Druid: I try to be good-natured about it. Was only selected twice (so far), both turned into 2-day things. It can be entertaining to dig how pissed off everyone else is. Until I become one of them...
	11:10am Rev. Turnip Druid: But yeh, my last one was a total waste of time. Typical rich-kid in Georgetown driving while hammered. No international espionage or dinosaurs, alas.
	11:12am bill: I fumed through six weeks until the plaintiff ran out of money. And they STILL continue to call me in. grr
	11:12am dc pat: hmm. I'll try your good-natured method on Wednesday, RTD... Huh, one of those rich-kids totaled my car once. Actually hit 2 cars--I think he fell asleep at the wheel of his school bus..Luckily I saw him coming at the last second and almost got out of the way.
	11:15am Rev. Turnip Druid: This kid just cruised through a 4-way stop after the bars had closed, cop was parked right there. Sumbitch refused a breath-test, hence we all get called in to go through the ritual. Sometimes an Atomic Wedgie is called for.
