Wow, Bethany. I was thinking of pitching this kind of show to Ken.

the glowing one:

a classical music show makes WFMU whole. like it was missing before.

FlipperKid:

This is a very nice track

I'm lovin this.

3 Bethany fill-in's inside of one week! The only improvement possible is a 3-hour show every time. 1 hour is simply not enough time for long-form music.

Yay, another surprise A440! I could tell within 2 seconds of turning on the radio.

Not familiar w/ Dusapin. Not quite a spectralist, but leaning in that direction.

Yeah, we only get little classical nibbles from Bryce, Kurt, and Scott. Actually, Lamin will drop Xenakis, Cage, and Ligeti from time to time

ahhh

Ah, Shastakovich

Bethany Ryker:

I'm totally down with the downpour outside. Do me a favor, if it's raining where you are, OPEN YOUR WINDOWS, breathe it in and let the outdoor sounds be part of the program!
  7:32pm
FlipperKid:

doing just that!

Ah, nostalgia. Shostakovich (10th Symph.) was my first classical album purchase, in the Melodiya store in Leningrad on my school trip to Russia, 1974.

Just sprinkling in central BK.

Thunder and gutter torrents here in PS.

My windows were open. I stuck my head outside to see if it was hailing, it was so loud.

If two WFMU dj's need more time to stretch their legs, it would be Bethany & Lamin. Although, having them back to back is nice.

Moderate rain here now... Some lightning even. Would go well with that big climax in Shos. 10th first mvmt. (Not a request.)

Marcel Mirbeau:

Listening with the window open and hearing the heavy rain in Brooklyn... perfect with the music.

FlipperKid:

Great show Bethany! Thanks for making my late work night chill!

It stopped raining here in Seattle around 2pm (go figure). I opened a window anyhow and the music goes with the view of Lake Union: The rowers are rowing, the stand-up paddle-boarders are paddling, and tugboats are tugging.

I'm loving all this Bethany time!

Here, until mid-day Friday.

Don't I still owe you a refreshing beverage? I can't even remember what that was about originally, but the offer is still good.
Avatar 7:57pm
northguineahills:

Refreshing set, Bethany!

Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Not owed, but thank you, Droll. Booked up this trip, but let's do that next time through. Only a few weeks from now.

Bethany, what show name will you use in the future? "Stochastic Hit Parade", "A440" or "Stochastic Hit Parade / A440"?

I think both Stochastic Hit Parade and A440 are great show names, btw.

Mr. Elliot:

What a great surprise! She is back - the girl from the north country! Your Buchla misses you. Sunny and hot in DC.

Thank the forces that be for the archives! I hope you will accept a note from my doctor verifying I was out hearing a Mr Medeski performing solo.
