@DCE, "Trackpad Of Today" just doesn't have the same ring.

So... Mouse of Today for the pledges earmarked for keeping the digital infrastructure running and getting better.
But there's also a reference to some history in there. Years ago, there was the "House of Tomorrow" pledge drive to help buy the building the station's now in. So... well, you see.
Sigurdur:
Danne D:
Ken had a vision of WFMU having a new location - one that ultimately was selected at 43 Monty in Jersey City. This was called the "House of Tomorrow" and to fund the project the $1/day pledge level was dedicated to this fund.
Evenutally the House of Tomorrow became, well, the House of Today. Around this time, the internets were exploding bigger and bigger. WFMU was one of the first stations to offer web-stream (heck maybe the first) - all of it free and if you poke around the archives you'll see just how far back the archives go. This costs bandwidth and $. Lots and lots of $. And to offset that cost (and to continue to bring WFMU to its now global audience) the House of Tomorrow pledge level morphed into the Mouse of Today pledge level. So there you go :)

I do make a point of putting that it's "Part of my prize account" in the comments though.
Honestly, they do a pretty good job of keeping it straight. it's impressive when I think about it.

@steve: I think today is the last day when you can set up a Prize Account, which means you can make a big, pay-monthly pledge, but then give it out over the Marathon as individual little pledges, which also allows you to enter prize drawings.
