Happy Phat Tuesday!
  5:49pm BZ:

Donald Byrd is the dopest. He lives forever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Doug Schulkind:

@BZ
There'll be some dope DB dropped during the duration.

evening Doug, BZ, Philo, Kat, Glenn, James!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm Doug Schulkind:

Hiya there LJFW and ndbob!
Avatar 6:01pm kat330:

@glenn: I really abused the interlist surfing in the noon- 3pm timeslot. I figure if folks can successfully do their office jobs at 100% while also giving 100% to playlist listen+comments, then surely I can do two playlists+comments simultaneously with equal attention, eh? ;)
Avatar 6:01pm kat330:

Howdy, Bob!!
Avatar 6:02pm kat330:

Doug, did you put together that talented mosaic? To echo LJfW, very nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:04pm Doug Schulkind:

@kat330
Why yes. Yes I did! With extreme love.
Avatar 6:04pm Philo Gristle:

Greets Bob, James, Glenn & gang! Having had some tasty jambalaya I can divide my attention between some Hoegaarden and the drummer-some.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm Doug Schulkind:

Gorgeous bass here from Dave Holland, who almost died a number of years ago. Then didn't. Bless you, Dave Holland.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:13pm listener james from westwood:

i second these hoegaarden/jambalaya-centered plans.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13pm Doug Schulkind:

Jesus Fucking Christ. How can Lol Coxhill be dead?!

Unacceptable.
Avatar 6:13pm Holly in NC:

Hello Doug & all!
Won't be able to type as off to walk a dog & that level of multitasking is well beyond my ken, but I'll be listening! Loved the Sam Rivers.

James, plenty to go around (though I'm having wine instead of beer).
Avatar 6:20pm kat330:

Hey, Holly! Shall I ladle you some jambalaya?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:20pm listener james from westwood:

i'll have a virtual one, thanks; got some driving to do in a little bit!
Avatar 6:21pm ndbob:

heya Holly and Holland!
Avatar 6:23pm kat330:

Considering it involved substitute and outright missing ingredients, it turned out PD good.
Avatar 6:25pm kat330:

Doug, I'm glad you picked mostly smiling pics. Makes my opening line seem not quite so off-key...
Avatar 6:25pm ndbob:

I'm drinking Powerade Zero as usual
Avatar 6:26pm glenn:

hmm. i think tonight's dinner shall be orecchiette with tuna, olives and onion in olive oil.
Avatar 6:26pm kat330:

@Bob: More power(ade) to ya! :)
Avatar 6:27pm kat330:

Tuna casserole -- yum! ;)

finished some homemade turkey chili for a late lunch earlier; will prob. grab a hero on the way out of here.
Avatar 6:32pm glenn:

well, i'm not making the orecchiette, but i make gnocchi from scratch quite a bit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm Doug Schulkind:

Me too, NGH, me too.
Avatar 6:35pm kat330:

I don't do well with any "patisserie" items. Probably because it's a more exact science, very little improvising, and you have to have patience, something I still lack this late in life.

I'm pretty good at making eggs from scratch:)
Avatar 6:39pm kat330:

@Bob: That'd be no chicken scratch if you can truly make eggs *from scratch*! :)
Avatar 6:41pm northguineahills:

Kat, I see you're in the same culinary book as I. It doesn't help that I can't eat such items as they hurt me (doesn't stop me from occasionally consuming them)
Avatar 6:42pm ndbob:

@kat Very true:)
Avatar 6:44pm kat330:

Nice ...
Avatar 6:46pm northguineahills:

Finally got a call back after 10 days incommunicado, they will have a decision by Friday (for the job). This is taking forever... and driving me sane (I imagine my terra firma lacks sanity).

Avatar 6:47pm Philo Gristle:

Fingers crossed, ngh!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm Doug Schulkind:

What Philo Gristle said.
Avatar 6:48pm Holly in NC:

@Kat - would love some of your virtual jambalaya, thank you!
Actual dinner will be homemade puttanesca sauce over shredded cabbage in lieu of pasta (like ndb, wheat not good for me, a very occasional treat). No matter, I love cabbage! Waffling between tuna, sardines or chicken for meat.
Avatar 6:49pm ndbob:

this is really nice! -- and good luck NGH!
Avatar 6:49pm northguineahills:

arigato gasaimasu te, Philo and everyone.
Avatar 6:49pm Holly in NC:

Oops, I meant @ngh! Sorry.
Avatar 6:52pm northguineahills:

I have some homemade japanese veggie curry in the fridge. I spent a good 5 hours Satuday after the blizzard making it the morning. My best batch yet.

I realize once I start working again, I'll have less time except weekends to cook...
Avatar 6:55pm northguineahills:

Puttanesca is one of my favorite sauces to make from scratch.
Avatar 6:56pm Holly in NC:

Is this where you start crying, Doug ? :-(
Avatar 6:56pm Philo Gristle:

This set is hitting the blue note, Doug.
Avatar 6:56pm Holly in NC:

@ngh - me as well
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm Doug Schulkind:

Started about 6:02, Holly.
Avatar 6:56pm kat330:

@Holly: Justin thyme! Was putting away the leftovers when Philo said you are back! :)

@ngh: I think I've been virtually going mad with your waiting game as well. Best of luck!! :)
Avatar 6:57pm glenn:

if only puttanesca cvould be made without capers, the devil's food.
Avatar 6:57pm northguineahills:

If Doug is like me, he's been crying the whole time :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57pm Doug Schulkind:

Twenty-three-year-old Herbie Hancock playing here like a wise old man.
