A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

i would super adore it if those of you who can would sign this petition to create stricter gun control provisions in the U S of A

  10:35am
sugarwolf:

jennique, your nails sound fantastic. I'm going to do mine red with red glitter for next week. Maybe I'll do my toes green.
  10:41am
Jennique:

This is an eerie cover of Bjork, but then again it is an eerie song. Dig it.
Doing my nails is a luxury, as I never paint them and now I remember why. I turn into a girlie girl trying not to chip the paint and hate myself for it.
  10:42am
Cecile:

You know what would go with this? The Sweetest Girl by Scritti Politti - the song ends very similarly.
  10:48am
Titus in GA:

HAHA! This Bo Diddley number is kickin'!
  10:54am

woah* Just found my new station as soon as I heard the mpc playin, I had to find this stations site. Thnx for an awesome station!!!!!!
  11:04am
other eddie:

@trouble, thanks much for posting the petition's link. i hope all will sign and speak up against the deranged priorities of the gun lobby et al
  11:11am
Brian in UK:

trouble, the challenge is the female leads amputation & accurate prosthetic work. Having just seen the Paralympics this is nothing new in disability, seeing someone deal with it after trauma is another. The male leads immaturity is childish and frustrating but somehow endearing. So, it challenges on several different levels.
  11:12am
xyz:

Yes - thanks for the heads up on that petition, Troubs. I get emails from Credo practically every other day, but nothing in my inbox about this one. Shame on them for not putting it on their home page, at least.
  11:16am
Brian in UK:

I thought the government let slip the proviso to stop these type of guns about eight years ago.
  11:20am
fred von helsing:

yeah !
  11:20am
Ike:

Wow, those Mike Batt song is fun. I don't normally enjoy Clay's picks but when he gets into the 80s he finds some neat stuff. I guess I'm a sucker for 80s fake robot music because objectively it's not any better than the 70s stuff, but I just have a weird, maybe-inexcusable negative reaction to the 70s stuff.
  11:23am
Cecile:

hahahha, this is a version of I got loaded
  11:23am
Brian in UK:

No more walking into Woolworths, bona dish.

hahahha. nice.

...will never look at or hear the word 'pudding' the same way, from now on. thanks, Trouble.
  11:28am
Unclear on the concept:

Y'know, you could take the lyrics of that "Pudding" song more than one way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am

o you think so unclear concept? i think wynonie was pretty clear which meaning HE had...

Taking off for today, Trouble. Great set, as always. I want to wish ya and your family a merry n safe Xmas and thank you so much for spinning some great sets this year. let's make it an awesome 2013 for The Magic Factory. Cheers and take care everyone :)
  11:36am
Robert:

What NRA high horse? It's just people who want to be able to have guns and not bother anybody. Why should they suffer just because a tiny few people are mean with guns?
  11:37am
robyn:

hey trouble - completely agree re: gun laws. ours are beyond absurd. i don't know if you're familiar with digby's blog hullabaloo but you might be interested in this link...about how it goes beyond the NRA to the paranoid voting bloc the Democratic Party has, to this point, been unwilling to alienate. http://digbysblog.blogspot.com/2012/12/sacrificing-thousands-of-kids-on-altar.html
  11:38am
too much coffee:

yeah, not was the "Pudding" reference well within FCC boundaries, but it was used with a sense of style and class... which is sadly long dormant in our current mass culture
  11:39am
Cecile:

Robert, I think the NRA is even out of touch with their membership. My father in law and brother in law cancelled their memberships after the NRA lobbied for assault rifles and armor piercing bullets. They are hunters, and know that you don't need those to hunt. But you do need them to take down law enforcement.
  11:40am

just to say

bom dia tiago cheers and thanks!
  11:47am
Robert:

Well, Cecile, how many of those weapons actually ARE used to take down law enforcement? And in those cases, do you know whether "law enforcement" DESERVED to be taken down?
  11:47am
Parq:

Oo, nice Third Wave! Joe McG played 'em too. Is this a new release?
  11:49am
Brian in UK:

It is always good to say thanks. We are generally too keen to criticise but slow to praise.
Thanks trouble for your trouble & taste.

have a happy and uneventful holiday everyone!

@ Brian: you're right, it did. We could use tighter restrictions than what that particular piece of legislation offered, but it sure would've been better than the whole lotta nuthin' we've got right now.
