Party town city I SEE YOU!
  12:28am
Jack:

Dang, I only hear you.
  12:29am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Greetings!

amEdeo, what have I told you about peeking in the window?!
Avatar 12:30am
Therese:

Hello Jack and BGZ!
  12:35am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Is it winter in Jersey City? 'Cause it's been summer down here. I hate 80+ degree temps in December. At least it should be appropriately cold when I visit Cleveland next weekend. Oh how I can't wait to flee to The Cleve!
  12:35am
Joe E:

Are we all WFMU-A-HOLICS???
  12:35am
amEdeo:

I WANTED TO SEE HOW MUCH FUN EVERYONE WAS HAVING WITHOUT ME, I AM SORRY GEEZ OK?

In other news: Pretty warm out here, turned on that space heater.
  12:36am
Jack:

The Hudsons are a Massachusetts husband/wife duo, says the interweb.
  12:36am
Paulo:

I am leaving a comment on wfmu.org !
  12:38am
amEdeo:

But how do they fit the chocolate behind those tiny paper doors?
  12:39am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Mojo Nixon released an interesting holiday record around twenty years ago. It had profane language on some of the tracks!
  12:42am
Jack:

If you ain't got Mojo Nixon, your holiday could use some fixin'!
  12:43am
KP:

Hey Therese, just in from second night in row of Monkeeing around.
Avatar 12:44am
Therese:

Nice, KP! How was it?
  12:44am
Chop Scott:

Therese! I kept thinking of Tracey Thorn the past weeks as Everything But the Girl did a lovely version of "Come Hell or High Water ".
  12:45am
Joe E:

Sometimes I feel like I'm the biggest fan of a band called WFMU. Band members include "Therese" on triangle, Clay Pigeon on xylophone, Evan 'Funk' Davies on screech guitar, Tom Sharpling on megaphone, Terre T on whatever she deems her pleasure, and .... help me out ... who's on wind chimes and sticks
  12:45am
Frances:

This Beth Orton track is lovely. Very.
  12:45am
KP:

Wonderful. What was realy great was my "real" friends met some of my virtual ones. It's nice to confirm the latter exists.
  12:49am
KP:

Irene on wind chimes. she and peter were there but did not run into them.
  12:50am
Frances:

Joe E., I'd pay scalper rates to see that band. Just got Clays Claasic Covers from my donation , & boy howdy his singing/arrangements are awesome
Avatar 12:51am
Therese:

Hiya, Frances, Chop Scott and Joe E!
Avatar 12:52am
Therese:

And Joe E, triangle is just the instrument I'd want to play in that band.
  12:53am
Joe E:

Therese - I know. I knew. And I know. Triangle full stop.
  12:55am
Joe E:

Frances that's FAN tastic!
  12:56am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

So apparently Jane Hudson's father was reknowned concert pianist Leonard Shure.

Walter Hill is slated to direct a remake of "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" This makes my heart sad unless the Baseball Furies are in it.

Julie would play synth in Joe E's FMU All-Star Band.
  12:57am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Running boards!
  12:58am
KP:

Clay Pigeon and Therese on lead vocals. Clay has played to huge crowds, fantastic pop/metal voice. Therese knocked 'em dead at the 2011 WFMU Sinfona.
  12:58am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

[I just looked at the playlist to see what "White Light/White Heat" was from]
  12:59am
KP:

Therese was that from Black Friday Record Store Day?
Avatar 1:00am
Therese:

I would settle for David Patrick Kelly- he can bring the crazy...
  1:03am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I believe that David Patrick Kelly had empty beer bottles surgically attached to his fingers years ago.
  1:07am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I pre-ordered the Velvet Underground & Nico 50th anniversary definitive edition.

suea:

i remember when toad the wet sprocket had a big hit. oh how the ladies in the medical records office tittered over that one!
  1:11am
KP:

BadGayZero! Good one! Forty-five does seem odd.
I hit that Iris records table outside the Path. Very nice, got Nirvana extended LP version of Nevermind. Next friday, i'll hit the real store. Thanks.
  1:17am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@KP: Iris Records is a great place! Therese recommended I pay it a visit and I was not disappointed.
  1:18am
KP:

suea, i always wondered about that. Is it an euphemism?
Avatar 1:18am
Therese:

Yes! I highly recommend Iris Records! They are fine folks.
  1:20am
KP:

European woman at the table was really nice, i will go next week to the actual store and buy more expensive vinyl to add to the collection in my car.
  1:25am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@KP: You have one of these? http://gatheringbooks.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/1960recordplayer.jpg
  1:30am

Mine broke. John Lennon had one in the psychedelic Rolls.

KP:

Wow. Oasis is like the Manchester Monkees. THanks!
  1:35am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I saw Oasis when they toured for this album. One of the best shows I've ever witnessed.
Avatar 1:35am

Ha! I think the Gallagher Brothers might fight you for that, KP!
Avatar 1:36am

Then again, those guys'll fight anybody...

Peter Gallagher??
Avatar 1:37am

Peter Gallagher is the best of all Gallaghers!

KP:

Gallagher Gallagher.
  1:39am
KP:

Oh lawd, who played this Friday night? Bill Mac?
  1:39am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Raise your hand if you had the "Wibbling Rivalry" record!

:raises hand:
  1:42am
KP:

Oasis?
  1:43am
amEdeo Gallagher:

Peter Gallagher of the Gallagher Gallaghers.
  1:43am
KP:

He did say Oasis lied to me! What the heck!
  1:47am
KP:

Cant trust a Mancunian. was going to say Manx but that's a Bee Gee. Different brothers.
  1:48am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Maybe he meant Oasis the record label [founded by Giorgio Moroder].
  1:50am
KP:

Have to go. My iphone did indeed drop my iphone back at friend's house. Thhe Monkees were fantastic, lot of edgy Headquarters type stuff along with the hits. It's not really the Monkees without Davy, he was No. 1 but it was great and moving. and seeing FMU-FB and local friends was a blast.
See ya, Therese. BGZ, amEdeo et al.
  1:51am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Take care, KP. Seeya next time!

I like the description of Beninghove's Hangmen on their Bandcamp page: Creeptastic grinder jazz for the masses.

If they were from Jersey it would probably read "creeptastic grinder jazz for Massa's."
  2:01am
Frances:

Oh this marching band is heavenly!
  2:05am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

BLERG! I suppose if I'd looked at the tags on Beninghove's Hangmen Bandcamp page I would have seen "Jersey City."
  2:07am

Are the numerous dollar store chains the new five and dime?

No class.

Some friends of mine run an annual music fest in Denton, TX. The Mountain Goats were one of the main stage headliners this year. During the encore John Darnielle directed his performance towards the video camera operator. It was good stuff!

Speaking of The Monkees, I just ran across a sealed copy of the New Monkees 1987 release. Remember when they tried to revive the Monkees franchise? Didn't work. That sealed album is worth about $7 on ebay. I think even Boyce and/or Hart were in a later incarnation of the band. Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn, and Jones is my favorite. Daily Nightly! Great show, Therese.
  2:32am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Yes, Eagle. All of that. Also, my birthplace and town where John Darnielle formerly resided.
  2:34am
Masque:

I wish Oasis would regroup. Beady Eye are OK. The bros. have the chemistry, though. Also on my wish list for regrouping. Grand Funk (with Mark Farner), Styx (with Dennis DeYoung), Journey, (with Steve Perry), Smiths (with Johnny and Morrissey). One can dream. Also the original Mahavishnu.

BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

This CS Yeh track is magnificent!

Why hasn't Mounds achieved the popularity of Almond Joy? Surely it can't just be the two almonds.

It works. Therese, it fell out of my WFMU hoodie. I should have ordered the the one with deep pockets.

And speaking of jersey city and Wfmu, I got a tour of the studio on Monday. I am now more than ever jealous and in awe of you and everybody else down there. See ya.

Holy hell...just noticed what time it is. The past two hours and 54 minutes have flown by.

Thanks - as always - for the great tunes, Therese! Have a great week!
  3:01am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I do believe that the Therese-to-amEdeo handoffs are consistently the best on FMU.
