Is this thing on?
So here's the deal: WFMU is holding a silent online fundraiser for the entire month of October, imaginatively title
d "WFMU's 31 Days Of October". It's a silent fundraiser because unlike our annual fundraising marathon in the spring, the DJs are not pitching on mic. The thinking behind this is that doing an on-air beg-a-thon twice a year is unconscionable and annoying, even if we offer better prizes, more interesting inane chatter, nicer tote bags, etc. than some of our public and/or college radio counterparts. It's too bad that we have to do it at all, but as WFMU expands its scope to include all sorts of goodies like, for example, the Rock & Soul Ichiban webstream from which my show spews forth, and as upkeep of the Jersey City building that houses the WFMU studios becomes increasingly expensive, the station's yearly operating budget becomes ever-larger while the amount of money we are able to raise every year during the marathon has more or less reached a plateau.
If you can make a donation of any amount to WFMU in general, or to my show in particular, it will be deeply appreciated (and rewarded with bumper stickers, T-shirts and so forth, depending on the size of your pledge).
Hey everybody, as the show winds down let me once again (off-mic, of course) direct your attention to the pledge widget on the upper left of this page. Thanks to everyone who pledged so far.

Hey Matt! I just mailed my donation to WFMU Ichiban stream today. Thanks for your email reminder. Great to hear your shows, and of course Ted and Debbie's, too.
