Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from September 14, 2012 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

the radiohead guy....weird, good weird.

Richard Friedman:

Greenwood's piece is a "response" to a work called Polymorphia by the great Polish Avant-Garde composer, Krzysztof Penderecki. In a sense it's a composed remix of the work. Penderecki work is from 1961.

Jonny Greenwood has been watching too much Predator.

tim from champaign:

I recently picked up Keith Jarret's Spheres LP and had my socks knocked off. For some reason I had associated Jarret with jazz brunch/new age hokiness for some reason.
  2:08pm
Richard Friedman:

Try Jarret's recording for the Shostakovitch 24 Preludes and Fuges. It's on ECM and came out in the 1980s. Still the best recording of that work ever. Also, his other recordings of classical piano lit on ECM.
He is a significant pianist in all genres.
