Cheri Pi:

hey Scott!
  9:04am
fred:

Good morning Scott. Has someone sent you the Hipnosis LP?
  9:05am
bruceleh:

Love that 'HaTikva' to Hipnosis segue, quite ironically transgressive :P
  9:07am
BSI:

I brought lentils. Lets get transgressive.
  9:07am
sinister dexter:

thanks for the music Scott ... howdy everybody from grand rapids michigan
  9:08am
fred:

@bruceleh: I do too, so much that I'm always startled on other days when I don't hear Hipnosis

Scott:

Good morning everyone.

JSF:

So this is the Eliane in the picture on Facebook? I guess I have to go read her Wikipedia page now that I know her last name.

fred:

There will be a festival near Paris (in Bagnolet) in September (21-22-23), and Biogenesis is on the menu. Info here (in French): http://goo.gl/XxU3e

Davice:

What's that noise? It's getting closer . . . .
  9:36am
BSI:

ah, womb-music.

My favorite tape of all time was found at a DC thrift-store: called "mother's heartbeat" and that's what it is... recorded from within, supposedly. The idea was to play it for a newborn to keep it mellow. But the sound was awesome. Blistering harsh noise yet fluid and supple at the same time...
  9:39am
Cecile:

morning!
  9:40am
ifny:

Excellent music - Biogenesis FTW. Thank you for making this morning easier to swallow.
  9:43am
Cecile:

sinister, hiya, some of my favorite people are from GR.
  9:45am
Cecile:

BSI, I think probably what I heard in the womb could be recreated with a tape of "who's afraid of virgina woolf" and a record of Jim Reeves played underwater.
  9:48am
Cecile:

this is such a great vibe today, scott.
  9:49am
Cheri Pi:

what she said. Cecile!

Amazing show today! I never get anything done on Friday mornings.

Is Kink Gong an artist or a label? Or both? They/he/it came up on the Jan 20 playlist.
  9:58am
bruceleh:

smokin'!
  10:02am
fred:

@ranjit: Kink Gong is both, the label released dozens of amazing traditional music, mostly from China and South-East Asia. As an artist, he often uses that as raw material for his music
  10:14am
common:

i am in a trance
  10:16am
Berg:

@common same here.. staring to the blue sky :)
  10:18am
ranjit:

Thanks, fred! (And thanks for answering my questions about Kink Gong back in January, too!)
  10:22am
fred:

@ranjit: Did you check out those records?
  10:24am
ranjit:

I couldn't decide which to buy, and I remain frozen in indecision 7 months later. I'll give it another try soon.

Hey Scott, I played Kink Gong today, too! Great minds Kink alike.
  10:26am
Andrew Greaves:

thank you Scott. You are an antidote to some of the bland, poppy fare the station now seems to be offering
  10:36am

Girls, bring your own manicure tools. You don't want blood poisoning.

Scott, any details on the recording date of 'Red Horse Headache'?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47am

Hey Andrew, last week I played the Replacements and Jawbox!
  10:47am
Cecile:

I remember Chico Freeman doing a nice version of this as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48am

Date palms and grandfather paradoxes! I approve heartily.
  11:42am

  11:50am

WFMU's Playlist Comments

You are about to post this comment:
Larry Crowne:
Really enjoying this droning Gmaj7 (Stasis), Scott. Strange how a typically transitional chord can sound so complete and satisfying on its own. Enjoying the show.
  11:55am
Cecile:

No, it's Jean-Michel. I was conflating him with Jean-Paul Gautier from some reason. My mistake!
  11:55am
BDR:

Thanks MUCH! for all the Radigue.
  11:55am
Cecile:

hey, Pidge.
  11:57am
Pidge:

Hi Cecile. I was just going to post as Larry Crowne but I blew it. Hope life is going well for you.
  11:57am
Ike:

@Fred -- shit, there are no words for what a fucking scumbag Putin is. So depressing.
  12:00pm
fred:

As Meghan probably would say these days: Poutine > Putin
(though in French both are spelled the same)
