	12:32pm ricardo montalban: With that Lumpy Money CD, you get the original mono masters, a bunch of outtakes and the crappy 80s remix.

	12:35pm ricardo montalban: It's just funny that the Zappa family trust has chosen to release the much maligned 80s mixes where Zappa overdubbed the Mothers with newer musicians

	12:40pm Jobritish A.D.: never actually seen Verve reissue them,, but do remember Ryko reissues.
	12:47pm northguineahills: I've used that SY track as a nice downtempo piece for a club djing.
	12:48pm ricardo montalban: The Ryko ones (usually in the green-tinged case) are the ones where he remixed everything, used annoying new percussion, etc. I think Scott Thunes redubbed all the bass with these rubbery basslines/

	12:57pm Honey Water: Hello, Rich! I tuned in late, but hope you can help me identify a snippet of some classical piece in the past 30-40 mins. MIGHT have been in the Bell Lab piece? And it MIGHT have been an orchestra phrase by Grieg?

	1:00pm Honey Water: As soon as I heard it, it reminded me I used to play it on the piano but had completely forgotten about it. OK, thanks, I'll track it down somehow. :)

	1:07pm ricardo montalban: This cassette came from a live radio broadcast on KAOS in Olympia in 1982 and is this band's only release.

	1:12pm Honey Water: Well, at least I've confirmed the mystery snippet was from "Bell Telephone Laboratories, Inc. The Science of Sound." Still not the title of it or composer. Could be from Carmen if not a Grieg piece.

	1:28pm northguineahills: I got to do a live dj thingy w/ multiples of a collection of Tellus pieces pressed onto vinyl (an edition of 100), it was called Tellus tools. However, after the performance, all the dj's had to return the records, and we would have to buy them just like everyone else. :(

	1:40pm northguineahills: @ listener james: I've been listening to all of my physical musical media (cassette, recs, cds, etc) in alphabetical order since Sept 2008. Right now, I'm up to the Vaselines. So, I haven't listened to the same song in the last four years (unless it's outside of my control).
	1:41pm Van in DC: I'm certain that if I could patch all of this in to play in the elevators here, the workplace would be a much happier place :)
	1:42pm Lewis: @northguuineahills - I have been considering the same project but by simply starting my iTunes at the top of the songs list and letting it run. Not sure I have your discipline though (and how do you deal with new additions?)
	1:44pm Jobritish A.D.: james, all the media are to blame especially today when they say things are good when they are not, they hide the good stuff under layers of mediocre crap, when you used to find something good 1 in every 10 items, its now something like 1 out of 100!
	1:44pm northguineahills: New additions get played as soon as they're acquired in the order they're in. If they're further in the alphabet from where I am, I'll listen to them again, otherwise, that's it. So, I guess there have been some pieces that have been heard more then once in the last 4 years.
	1:44pm ricardo montalban: I've come to the conclusion that it's a really, really small segment of the population that enjoys unfamiliarity and unpredictableness in music

	1:28pm northguineahills: I got to do a live dj thingy w/ multiples of a collection of Tellus pieces pressed onto vinyl (an edition of 100), it was called Tellus tools. However, after the performance, all the dj's had to return the records, and we would have to buy them just like everyone else. :(

Right now, I'm up to the Vaselines. So, I haven't listened to the same song in the last four years (unless it's outside of my control).

	1:42pm Lewis: @northguuineahills - I have been considering the same project but by simply starting my iTunes at the top of the songs list and letting it run. Not sure I have your discipline though (and how do you deal with new additions?)
	1:44pm Jobritish A.D.: james, all the media are to blame especially today when they say things are good when they are not, they hide the good stuff under layers of mediocre crap, when you used to find something good 1 in every 10 items, its now something like 1 out of 100!
	1:44pm northguineahills: New additions get played as soon as they're acquired in the order they're in. If they're further in the alphabet from where I am, I'll listen to them again, otherwise, that's it. So, I guess there have been some pieces that have been heard more then once in the last 4 years.
