Thanks for Hawkwind. Re: Kak - I was just saying to the missus 'this band sounds like Quicksilver'. Looked em up and found 'Kak were a 1960's rock band from California heavily influenced by Quicksilver Messenger Service'. Nice though, never heard of them before.

  3:58pm tomB:

re Kak: I was thinking a neo-Jeff Air soundalike. The sound was so clear, thought it was live at the station.
Avatar 3:59pm AP Paulie B:

@PP: "Epic" stands for "Enables producer (to) input carefully."
  4:03pm Shawn:

  4:32pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

You're also under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9pm. I'm still getting weather alerts for your area on my phone (I spent a few days in Jersey City last month).

  4:43pm ?:

Hi Terre - I'm not listening in real time but to answer your question, "Emily" was their second single from 1967. The "Relics" comp came out in 1971.
  4:44pm J. Lynne:

I am looking forward to my royalty cheque for partial writing credit on this Hives song.
  4:46pm Cherry Blossom Dan:

The Arctic Monkeys sounded cool Gaz.
  4:46pm Cherry Blossom Dan:

The Arctic Monkeys sounded cool Gaz.
Avatar 4:47pm AP Paulie B:

@J. Lynne: Don't you have enough Wilburys money?
  4:54pm London Gaz:

yeah Dan, Macca must have been pleased with them too - and how about those pogo creatures for the Pistols and Prodigy numbers, well thought out. By the way, hi Terre, are you into sport at all?
  4:54pm Skirkie:

  5:11pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I like the synchronized diving competition.

Yes, that's a real thing.
  5:18pm listener mark:

Someone spray painted "Dead Kennedys" on a wall. My cousin was taking my great aunt Francis to the store, she saw this, and said," Democrats!"
  5:18pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Video of the dog running out during the bicycle race: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPpaftvNf64

I was expecting multi-angle analysis.
  5:24pm Madi:

Crankin' up the underrated Ants.
  5:25pm Skirkie:

Here's what the Olympic ceremony was missing:

http://youtu.be/l1YmS_VDvMY
  5:36pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I've had no success in finding a video clip online of the local NBC affiliate's coverage of the Sex Pistols at Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas. The show was running behind schedule and The Nervebreakers were the band playing while the reporter was on-air. That was a pretty huge moment in the Dallas underground music scene.
  5:49pm Skirkie:

That's another thing the Olympic thing was lacking: A Mod vs. Rocker brawl.
  5:52pm David Shortell:

Didn't the '64 Olympics in Brighton, England have that?
  5:53pm London Gaz:

more python less bean
  5:53pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

*sigh* More records added to my "Must Acquire" list. New bookcases can wait. :D
  5:54pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

More Python. Less Lauer, Viera and Costas.
  5:56pm Phastman:

The Berlin Brats!!! Used to see them all the time. Great early L.A. punk band that everyone seems to have forgotten.
  5:59pm Skirkie:

Six o'clock? What the hell?
  6:02pm London Gaz:

we were spared those NBC guys in Britain, however we did have BBC's Edwards, Irvine & Nelson who were, well ........ also cr*p actually!!!
  6:22am swcosine:

hi terre from clevo.
  3:43am Bill:
