Hi Amanda fans :)
Hi Amanda :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm
Amanda:

Don't worry pgw -- I got the alliteration drift. And speaking of, I am getting on an alliteration wave myself now.

Hi Danne and hi Doug!
  12:27pm
kat330:

Add a K. to that?? Hi, Amanda, and hi all good folks I've not chatted with in a long week away!

DANNE D!
oh hi everybody else
  12:27pm
Catherine:

How cool that the Kickstarter campaign for the WFMU documentary is only $1200 away with 13 days to go! (Way better than $1300 with 12 days to go.) Kick it!
  12:29pm
frenchee:

I'm tearing myself away from Nora Ephron tributes for a little Nazario scenario
  12:31pm

  12:43pm
G:

Hard to believe Philly and Pittsburgh are actually in the same state. :-)
  12:44pm
Skirkie:

First time I said "wooter ice" to someone in North Jersey they had no idea what I was talking about.
  12:46pm
Otis:

didnt Farren write some scifi novels??
  12:48pm
pgw in mntclr:

ha! i'm glad i don't really eat that or ice cream anymore, because i'm sure i'd get arrested for starting a drunken wooter ice- or jimmies-related brawl.
  12:52pm
frenchee:

Didn't care so much for YOU'VE GOT MAIL, though it was filmed around the corner from where I worked at the time. I recall walking down 17th St. and seeing the crew glueing "autumn leaves" on the bare trees for a scene.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm
Amanda:

Oh God, "jimmies"! You are killing me!

@Otis -- he's a super-prolific and punk rock writer (I mean this in the best sense).
  12:58pm
Otis:

@kat330 where'd you go?? i didnt go away, just never time to post here....... work work work

thanks @amanda thought Id seen some in the library.

  1:05pm
ndbob:

Hello Amanda and everyone!
  1:06pm
Carmichael:

Hey there Bobbo. Hi Danne.
  1:12pm
kat330:

@Otis: Sorrreeee! JT came home for lunch, and I was interrupted. But actually, with all the tasks I came home to after a week away, I'll be very spotty on any playlist for several days.
  1:15pm
kat330:

It's times like this I wish I could come home to an office job from where I listen and type to FMU/GTDR. It's an easier transition back into the swing here. :)
  1:18pm
Otis:

@kat meant to ask where you were for the missing week reg yr earlier post.. but just as on/off shedule here myself. boss looms over. great show today though!
  1:20pm
kat330:

@Otis: Cocoa Beach, FL. It was perfect and just what the doc ordered. Last day+half got some Debby rain, but that was perfect, too. And the Prez followed us around! First in FL and then at the Atlanta airport. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm
Amanda:

I think Kat may have been on an aeroplane last week...
  1:21pm
kat330:

@Amanda: But not an Aeroplane Over the Sea. However, plenty of interesting aerial vehicles could be spotted while body-surfing the perfect waves. :)
  1:23pm
Otis:

unidentified aerial vehicles??? i like waves and wavves but florida is too hot&humid.
  1:25pm
kat330:

@Otis: Oh, but it wasn't! It was much hotter here in the Louisville area, as it will be again starting this weekend. It was FL because NYC friends of ours had use of a beautiful beachfront condo in C.B. -- so it was an affordable vacation.
  1:27pm
Carmichael:

You're going' old school, Amanda. Some Sensational Alex Harvey Band or Slade would fit in perfectly!
  1:28pm
kat330:

Yes, this Trick rocks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm
Amanda:

Carmichael, how 'bout this?
  1:29pm
G:

The Floyd food show theme. The song with the "clit" pun
  1:29pm
frenchee:

ooh, SLADE~ good suggestion, Carmichael. HI AMANDA! I love the Stranglers too.
  1:29pm
kat330:

Ahhh, fond beach memories. Thanks, Amanda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm
Amanda:

Hi frenchee!!! Youze are going to kill me for NOT picking up "Slayed?" for $8 when I had the chance. Like it would've broke the bank? One fewer cheesesteak and it would be mine.
  1:33pm
Danne D:

Whoa! Who woulda figured Amanda would throw in some ska right about now?!?

;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm
Amanda:

I know, it must come as a shock...
  1:36pm
Otis:

kat -- with friends like that who needs my friends!

Slade in Flame is almost as good as SLayed…..
  1:37pm
ndbob:

sounds nice Kat:) - haven't been to the beach for so long
  1:37pm
G:

Is his nickname "My Bob Lollipop"?
  1:38pm
kat330:

Heh! This one makes me hanker for "Locomotion," always a great summer memory that one.
  1:38pm
G:

Boy Lollipop, stupid fingers...
  1:39pm
kat330:

@Otis: Yes, we owe a LOT to NYC and NJ. :)

@Bob: I hadn't been either since 2008, so the soothing potion of the ocean motion was long overdue. I seriously did not want to come home...
  1:41pm
ndbob:

the original version of "My Boy Lollipop" was by Barbie Gaye" much poppier - a few years earlier I think
  1:41pm
Puritans:

How dare you, Amanda!!!! LOL
  1:45pm
jaminta80:

Good show today! Lots of good stuff!
  1:46pm
kat330:

Oooh, a comMANDA!
  1:48pm
Danne D:

The Richard from Venezuela show would be cool :)
  2:01pm
Dervish:

This show is getting sublimer and sublimer.
  2:01pm
kat330:

This is also quite soothing...
  2:02pm
Confused Memory:

freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom...
  2:04pm
Carmichael:

Back once again. I bought this Richie Havens album when it came out, and played it (and along with it) until the needle turned it to spaghetti!
  2:07pm
Carmichael:

@Amanda: if you mean by "How 'bout this" the Stranglers, I'd say "excellent"!

And I accidentally saw Mike Nesmith & the FNB once. They were very impressive.
  2:09pm
kat330:

Limehouse -- love it! (aka the Lime Rhymer :)
  2:13pm
Carmichael:

The Richie Havens album was Alarm Clock.
  2:14pm
ndbob:

I need to go... excellent show Amanda... catch the rest later
  2:15pm
kat330:

I don't recall this bed music before.
  2:16pm
kat330:

Bye, Bob! Have a great day!
  2:21pm
Otis:

box tops! really liked their comeback album from the nineties too...
  2:23pm

It's a Nostalgia Scenario with Nazario indeed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm
Amanda:

Belated hello's (and goodbyes) to ndbob, jaminta80, and Dervish, who came out of the woodwork during the last set.
  2:27pm
Carmichael:

You mean Tin Tin did something other than Toast & Marmalade for Tea? Never woulda known ....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm
Amanda:

Don't get too excited, Carmichael -- it was just the flip side of Toast & Marmalade.
  2:35pm
Carmichael:

He he ... one more song is twice the output, right??
  2:36pm
Carmichael:

Oh, I just noticed the song. Cold Blood played my Senior Ball in high school!
  2:40pm
kat330:

Carm, we had a reggae entertainer during dinner one night in C.B. who played *my* Senior Prom song: "My Girl" :)
  2:43pm

Dialectics. You know.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm
