@Caryn: "St. John's wort" is called that because they used to burn it in bonfires on St. John's Eve, the English Midsummer.

Jay /London:

  7:00am
Dave B:

Go Jay!

I'm trying to think of a proper subliminal message. Either that or a frame of hardcore porn a'la "Fight Club"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01am

DOM as homeless was scary...

Davice:

Don't forget "Telephone and rubber band" by the Peguin Cafe Orchestra.
  7:02am
Jay /London:

@ dave B its hard to think up a good message for the film
  7:03am
karen:

Yes, it was pretty scary, and it wasn't too much of an effort....just released all that gray hair from his ponytail! The caveman was scary too.
  7:04am
Caryn:

@Dave B: how about a still of Burl Ives?
  7:06am
Chuck:

You can make a phone with cans and string, but can you make one with cheese? hehe...
  7:07am
Madi:

@Jay I guess I'd go after an enemy of my happiness (a corporation).
@Chuck, you would need some pretty hard cheese.
@Meghan fun show.
  7:07am
Caryn:

@Chuck: a CAN of STRING cheese?
  7:08am
Dave B:

@caryn - heh
  7:09am
Chuck:

Hey, that could work, Caryn!!
  7:09am
Davice:

Sounds like a cheesy phone
  7:10am
Chuck:

I don't need to expend any effort to ignore the phone. I do it every day!
  7:11am
Ken From Hyde Park:

I like Blondie's "Hanging On The Telephone." Is that scheduled?
  7:11am
Chuck:

With that statement "Talk to Ya Later" by the Tubes comes to mind....

  7:13am
hamburger:

Also Labi Siffre - on the telephone is quite a sweet song
  7:13am
Caryn:

The biggest development with mobiles is that we used to have books for putting important phone numbers in, and we memorised phone numbers (my first phone number: 8033795). Now, if the SIM card in my mobile conked out, I'd be screwed. I don't know anyone's phone number by heart anymore.
  7:14am
Chuck:

Me either, Caryn. Kind of lazy on my part...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15am
Meghan:

I know Caryn! I don't even know my husbands number! That is bad! But I do remember his parents by heart since it was when you had to memorize
  7:15am
Davice:

Mehgan - how LONG have you been married? tee hee.
  7:15am
Caryn:

@Dave B: hmm, interesting. A few years back, I remember Nokia coming up with a biodegradable phone that you could compost and turn into mulch.
  7:16am
Dave B:

I wonder if these guys were paid scale? Boy would they've picked up the nickels!

http://www.phworld.org/sounds/modern/timetemp/
  7:17am
Chuck:

Then again with over a hundred numbers in my phones memory I don't know if I could memorize that many...
  7:17am
Caryn:

I suppose in a pinch, I could call my old phone number (see above) or my childhood best friend's number, since those are the only 2 numbers I still know by heart. But that might not be of much help in an emergency.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19am
Meghan:

Ha! Davice.... I have known him since high school..... *GASP!*
  7:26am
Madi:

...She may call you up tonight by the LEFT BANKE!!
  7:27am
fred von helsing:

I was JUST going to ask about "Jeu de Téléphone" par Natacha Snitkine ... ya read my mind ! ... I love playing this at gigs
  7:30am
fred von helsing:

YES!
  7:32am
Ken From Hyde Park:

In the US, we dial local numbers with seven digits. At one point, years ago, The first two were letters that represented your local area and then some number and then four digits randomly dispersed to the populace. In our town, the numbers were 683-xxxx, and 68 (letters M and U on the dial) were from MUrdoch. Not sure who Murdoch was.
  7:34am
fred von helsing:

tildes and circomflexes and cedilles - oh my !
  7:34am
Hugo:

Hey, you need to practice your ASCII-code-knowlegde ;-)
  7:35am
Dave B:

@Ken - I think it was regional. MU in the NYC area was "Murray Hill"
  7:36am
Dave B:

START>RUN>CHARMAP
  7:38am
kernighan and ritchie:

We hope nobody pronounced that like the *verb* "char"
  7:41am
Chuck:

Hey, I've seen Charles Bradley! He opened for Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. Cool!
  7:49am
Dave B:

Sharon Jones August 18 in Williamsburg with Antibalas. It's FREE. Come on downstate chuck!
  7:49am
Chuck:

I mentioned her and so she appears!
  7:50am
Ken From Hyde Park:

@Dave B - That was in a different state.

Nowadays, instead of just Ma Bell holding all the numbers, you have all different carriers and cell phone companies doling out numbers, so your friends and neighbors have all kinds of numbers where all seven digits and even area codes are different.. So, yeah, lots of numbers to keep track of. Not easy to keep it all memorized.
  7:51am
Chuck:

I will make an effort to be there, DB!
  7:51am
Dave B:

Indeed Ken. Indeed.

Meghan, just found my sock garters. WOOT!
  7:51am
Ken From Hyde Park:

I recognize Sharon Jones' voice from "This Land Is Your Land" from Ken's show yesterday morning.
  7:52am
Dave B:

Chuck / Meghan - perhaps ill throw together a rooftop party prior to that gig
  7:53am
Chuck:

Well then I'll have to make it then, won't I, Dave?!
  7:53am
fred von helsing:

Some fab fotog

Belongs on the "Goofiest Songs Ever" list...

Antibalas is awesome btw. saw them in 2001 in the Netherlands. Brilliant stuff.
  8:02am

X!!!
  8:03am

@fred - I'm going to try streaming some of it from my iPhone to UStream. If I can test it out successfully I'll share a link on UTP Facebook page

  8:14am
Chuck:

Well, my shop is always 10-15 cooler than outside. Trouble is I have to bring a mold to Insun's today in my NO A/C truck....
  8:14am
Madi:

Nice set! I too regret the non-installation of promised A/C and I too enjoy Antibalas. (DIODES!!!)
  8:15am
fred von helsing:

It's 90? Aaaaa hah hah hah hah hah.
Here it's a comfy low 70s.
  8:16am
Chuck:

I hit 99.4 here yesterday, fred...
  8:16am
Dave B:

Gonna get ready for work. Meghan touch base on rendezvous in Coney
  8:17am
Ken From Hyde Park:

I guess in some countries, the phone numbers have a variety of numbers of digits. It would confound me because I wondered how the phone knew you dialed all the digits. For example, you're dialing an 8-digit number and you've dialed seven digits, then how does the phone know you still have one to go?
  8:17am
Jay /London:

you wait Fred we will get the hot weather soon then we will not be laughing any more
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17am
Meghan:

Will do Dave! Chuck, I am up on a platform working on plaster arms and legs..... heat rises, but luckily I'll be wet sanding..... oops! Did that bucket of water fall on me?
  8:18am
Chuck:

Keep the water atomizer handy as well, Meg!
  8:18am
Cheri Pi:

Meghan-this is brilliant.
  8:19am
Jay /London:

maybe that's too much info Meghan lol
  8:19am
fred von helsing:

The keyboard on this reminds of Brick - Good High
  8:20am
fred von helsing:

It might get hot here but we can still dig down to the permafrost to keep cool :-D
  8:21am
Dave B:

@Bucket falling - in slo-mo!

See ya!

@Fred cooks like fish
  8:35am
Davice:

RELAX Meghan - you're making me nervous!
  8:35am
Cheri Pi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:36am
Meghan:

I am relaxed.... just know I have good songs coming up and don't want to NOT play them!
  8:37am
Chuck:

I think that only counts if it's the same species, hamburger. Are mermaids a different species?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:38am
Meghan:

Part human part fish
  8:39am
Chuck:

Well, how much DNA do humans share with mermaids anyway? Chimps have over 90% of ours, but is eating a chimp cannibalism?
