Hi steve first time i listen to your show. Hey Brian you still here what about your dogs ?
6:16am
Brian in UK:
Already walked the dog, Jay. Feeling static today.
6:22am
vanya:
great music, steve! like, from back then, when people played musical instruments!
6:28am
Brian in UK:
My first motorbike came with a sidecar.
This is a memorial show in the making, Steve.
Oh Gene's voice.
6:30am
Jay /London:
@ Brian i need to go to the shops but I am locked into the show
6:32am
dale:
loving these sounds with my first cuppa in the morning! remember when the dillards were the 'darlings' on the andy griffith show?
6:35am
Brian in UK:
Devilish ain't it Jay.
A lot of people hated Byrds the reunion album but I thought Gene's singing on See the Sky About to Rain and others was wonderful.
6:36am
Jeremy (yup, also in the UK):
Loving the show, Steve. Don't understand why that NGDB triple LP isn't known by everyone (over here, at least)
Hey, mornin' all. No time for comments from me-- too hectic-- but sure is nice knowing you are out there.
6:58am
Mike:
Walking the dog listening to this wonderful music streaming on my droid
7:06am
Chip:
Working so only catching pieces of the show, but what I'm hearing sounds great, especially for just coming out of mothballs
7:22am
bob:
Great show steve!. Saw Geoff Muldaur couple of weeks back in Bkln. Same place i saw spider john a couple of years ago. there was probably 50 folks at most at either event. I could hardly believe my good luck, but i couldn't shake the feeling that it's a shame these guys aren't playing much, much bigger venues
BOB: I wish I had known about this; where did you see him?
7:36am
bob:
I saw him at Jalopy in Red Hook…Irene Trudel was in attendance, too. Tony Glover is still alive for all I know, But eric is gone a few years now, sadly. Jalopy is a great joint, awesome filler music between sets…. tiny place, but big sound!
Yup. Tony Glover still cooking, Ric Von Schmidt died in 2007. I missed that.
7:49am
bob:
Wow, this Francis Bebey tune is a real gem, thanks!
7:59am
From Revere to reverie:
Steve Krinsky - I assume you said "Revere," when discussing stolen goods and Eric Von Schmidt records, but I missed the beginning of the sentence. I spent my first ten years – a sentence in itself some might say (though I wouldn’t) - in Revere, which both sides of my family called home, starting with my great-grandparents' generation. I was lucky enough to experience Revere Beach when it was still akin to Coney Island. One of my great uncles was the proprietor of the Revere Drive-In, which I now regard as my night school.
I lived in Revere until I went off to college (UMAss) in the 60s. Point of Pines, near the beach. Email me at stevek@wfmu.org and we'll talk about hanging out on Shirley Ave
8:31am
abby:
i saw the klezmatics perform woodie guthrie at the maverick in woodstock: his mother-in-law was apparently a very famous yiddish singer in the old country; and he was always on her to do something with all the original sheet music she had sitting around the attic.
8:44am
mike tp:
STEVE will have to catch up on the archives. you brought the goodie bag to the show.
I'm pretty much done. Hope you liked it. Check out more shows on the archives; email mail me if you want to stay in touch, find out when I am on next, share jokes, whatever: stevek@wfmu.org. Take care.
8:59am
Ken From Hyde Park:
Good morning. Just caught the last minutes of your show. It sounded good.
3:52pm
Lizardner Dave:
Listening on the archives. Great show. Thanks Steve.
