  9:11am

  9:13am
bruceleh:

Good Morning, all!
I'm in remarkably good spirits this morning, even after waking up from a 5:30 AM server outage call from London.
  9:16am
hamburger:

server outage = severe outrage!
  9:16am
bruceleh:

OK, here's the question for streaming listeners, say in the office with head phones on. When you get up to go to the bathroom, do you pause the live stream, so none of this fantabulous programming is missed, or do you leave the stream running, so that you stay current to the 'real time' play and chatter?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am
scott:

Major action this morning in the studio. Man Forever setting up to play live on-air.
  9:19am
hamburger:

Don't know how you can pause a live stream, not sure if stopping and starting makes any difference, unless you got some special TiVO RADiO, I accidentally left WFMU on before leaving yesterday, so I thought, oops, wasted bandwidth when I got in - sorry, my bad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26am
scott:

Can you pause the live stream? That would be cool. I think you can do it on the iPhone app.
  9:26am
Ruaraidh:

Fahey hitting the spot! Saw Michael Chapman play a great tribute to him last week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26am

  10:33am
pgw in mntclr:

that thurston list in "grand royal" cost me a lot of money on ebay back in the day
  10:33am
hamburger:

who does/did the sample mixing in the beastie boys? guessing they must have been involved in that part..
  10:35am
Cecile:

I saw them in '83 when Cookie Puss just came out and they were still playing hardcore. They were a mess, but very charismatic.
  10:35am
Bad Ronald:

I saw Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth & Foo Fighters at Araneta and the BBs blew the fuse in the joint twice during "Sabotage".
  10:36am
KevinfromBayRidge:

I appreciate the tributes to MCA. Never was into BB's during their heyday, but FMUs typically great selections have opened my thick skull to them. But isn't that why we listen to our beloved station??!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am
scott:

I had grand royal #2 and it was so important to me, I can't imagine where along the way I lost it/threw it out.
  10:38am
fred:

@scoll: maybe someone "borrowed" it
  10:39am
pgw in mntclr:

i still have my copy, but i swiped it from my friend, who, i believe, had a subscription to "grand royal"
  10:41am
Cecile:

I probably have 1 or 2 around.
The oral history of "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains" is priceless.
  10:43am
Cheri Pi:

The Ted Nugent interview is my favorite Grand Royal article.
  10:54am
seang:

  10:58am

@Cecile - I just watched that last month for the first time as part of my personal "Musical Film Festival." Awesome movie. This weekend, I'll be screening "Tommy"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am
scott:

I think the nuge interview was in #2 as well!
  11:07am
Cecile:

Wow, is it on DVD? used to be you would only be able to catch it on USA Night Flight...
  11:11am
tim from Champaign:

Cecile, I think The Stains movie finally came out on DVD a couple years ago. I remember catching it on the A&E channel in my early teens.
  11:12am
pgw in mntclr:

i saw it recently via netflix
  11:19am
Cecile:

  11:20am
Mike East:

@Cecile - Netflix instant, if you subscribe.
  11:25am
Mike East:
