Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from March 16, 2012 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

mike noble in dc:

i hope there are schnitzler mono nerds.
  1:19pm
bill:

Srsly, isn't it a stretch to say that playing CS tapes in public is "performing" them?
Avatar 1:24pm
bryce:

sorry, bad choice of words?

just a "performance" of the multi-channel piece, which normally one wouldn't be able to hear, unless you have one of those 8-channel boom boxes....
  1:25pm
Droll:

@Bill, Why stop there? Those laptop guys don't look like they're doing much. And just what is a "Turntablist?" Is that more or less "performance" than whistling or manualism?
  1:27pm
BSI:

oh hell, this here.
  1:31pm
Marmalade kitty:

loving this clip..
  1:32pm
bill:

Laptop guys probably did a lot of programming first. All Gen does is open a box he got in the mail and press play.
Listen I'm not putting the guy down, not at all. But he's setting himself up as the artist when it sounds to me like he's more like a curator or a dj. There's a difference.
Avatar 1:38pm
bryce:

hey bill, i'm sorry. i said "performance." but also described what was happening. just replace it with "projection." sorry to be confusing.
  1:45pm
bill:

Ahh, I'm sorry I even brought it up. Loving the sounds, Bryce.
  1:46pm
Carmichael:

Heh heh ... was just showing someone in my office how to work some software. After about 5 minutes, he gives me a look and says, "What the hell are you listening to?" Conrad Schnitzler, duh!
  1:50pm
Chris from DC:

So this cassette is just a part of an octophonic set? If so, holds up great on its own.
  1:50pm
Marmalade kitty:

Good office music! :)
  1:52pm
George of Troy:

@Carmichael: I get that all the time when I'm listening in the office. "What's that whistling sound? Do you hear that?"
  1:55pm
barry:

@Fabluv: He is. Fabio had Conrad on his show a long time ago; maybe around 1990. There's an archive of it somewhere. It's an excellent listen.
