I've been trying to reduce the space on my startup disk (which is full) i've tons of files that are taking a lot of space, but i don't know which ones i can get rid of…

@ Dave B : i'm on a mac. I've put all my sound/video/images on my external hard drive (almost 500G), but my startup disk which when empty is 50G is almost full with only 7G of application, most of the space is taken by those .mddata or .framework files or cache, or file that don't even have names, i never what file i can delete whithout causing my computer to crash

Tangential question, but last week I read that the director of Head tormented the Monkees by playing Electric Flag on the set and saying "that's what a real rock and roll band sounds like." Odd since the Butterfield band had recorded a Neismith song. Are there any good songs by the Electric Flag?

rudi - new to me but the page i'm reading (http://www.spitrecords.co.uk/rudi.htm) sounds promising. might be tough on short notice.

not a fan of therapy? personally, i was tormented by their 90's chart hits in germany when i lived there. though i suppose there's some good stuff somewhere

horslips - i'm pretty sure the only stuff i've heard by them is pretty much MOR. if you've got any track names, send em my way!

Shimmy, if you can track down a copy of "Crimson" by Rudi you won't be sorry. Total punk stomper. And "Sure The Boy Was Green" by Horslips is more rock than MOR, at least to my ears, but as Cecile mentioned not really in the garage/punk genre (and the Tull-esque flute probably doesn't help).

the movie is pretty dang entertaining. Part of the Roddy Doyle trilogy with The Snapper and the Ban.

dearg doom from Horslips is pretty tough sounding and has a great bassline.

It's not punk, but I really like rapper RiRa's 25 clock in the morning. Great stuff. And Jinx Lennon!

My favorite Electric Flag track is “Flash, Bam, Pow", featured in the soundtracks of both “The Trip” and “Easy Rider”.
Sadly, it appears not to have been released in any audio format.

Regarding the Dave Clark Five, I finally saw “Having a Wild Weekend” last Wednesday on Turner Classic Movies. It was directed by John Boorman (Point Blank, Deliverance, etc).
Unlike “A Hard Day’s Night”, the DC5 don’t play themselves in the film (Dave Clark stars as a character named Steve).

Never heard of the Volebeats before, so I did a quick Google search...they do a country-flavored version of Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain", complete with some nice pedal steel playing! Great stuff!
