Listener comments!

  9:06pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Keep them pledges coming!
  9:08pm
Destroit:

Hello efd, and all the listeners.
  9:09pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Hellooo!
  9:09pm
Van in DC:

Good evening Evan. FYI, I'm on a Prize Account so you HAVE to automatically enter me in to any prize giveaway BWAAAA HA HA HA! :)

(I just realized this)
  9:11pm
john and becky:

koff koff
  9:14pm
SteveL:

Van: DAMN YOU!!

Or me, for being too cheap to go that level. So, Van, tell our audience how much they should pledge!
  9:17pm
Destroit:

Mmmmmmarmalade!!!
  9:17pm
Van in DC:

@SteveL - actually I noticed that I still have to make a pledge but it doesn't really count. Weird. Up to $1000. And that is the level...as far as I know...
  9:18pm
sybil:

After Timmeh,I thought I could hold out. But NO! Bring on the FUNK!
  9:19pm
Van in DC:

At $1000, you get SO MUCH COOL STUFF! :) I thought it would be EASY to choose 18 DJ premiums. IT WASN'T! Boggle.
  9:19pm
Skirkie:

trying to think of an efd portmandeau that'll rake those pledges in.
  9:21pm
Skirkie:

You got bit by wfmu. Be sure to get your Davies Shot.
  9:21pm
Van in DC:

The only downside to my donation - not pledge because the $$$ already has gone in - is that I divied it up between like 10 shows, so I am not a Mouse or whatever for any one show. Bummer. Guess I'll have to pledge more. :)
  9:23pm
Destroit:

God I hate pledge time. And yes, i gave, so fuck off. Doing a great job through rough waters efd.
  9:23pm
SteveL:

Choosing premiums was tricky. I ended up with three. I love the options.

The more I talk like this, the more I feel like Vanna White. Vanna for GOOD!
  9:25pm
Dave in PA:

According to the 'Marathon Map', it would seem our Neighbors to the North hardly ever donate :-(
  9:25pm
Skirkie:

Yo, that elevator made some damn ominous noises.
  9:26pm
Ken:

Joe, does the elevator car have a burning motor noise? Seriously let me know.
  9:28pm
SteveL:

Aw shucks you guys! Go on! You like me, you really like me.
  9:30pm
Destroit:

Love ya Steve! :)
  9:30pm
Skirkie:

Yo, that Ed is my blood relative.
  9:31pm
SteveL:

Destroit: Back atcha. Gotta feel the love. Group hug.

Did Mike Sin have a premium? Don't think I saw it.
  9:32pm
Skirkie:

Ken, I rode it once on Monday morning. The best I can describe it is "struggling."
  9:34pm
PB:

That looks like a picture of Tim Horton (yes, that Tim Horton). Glenn or any other Canucks out there, am I right?
  9:34pm
lgp:

large Panties loves efd since 80 - 81 nyu
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:36pm
efd:

PB, that IS a picture of Tim Horton!
  9:37pm
G:

Well, that would explain the resemblance :-)
  9:38pm
Ken:

So you're not talking about noises it made tonight Joe? It was "serviced" this AM.
  9:38pm
john:

It would also explain the three donuts along the bottom of the picture.
  9:38pm
Van in DC:

@SteveL - nope for Mike Sin. That I know of.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39pm
efd:

john, exactly!
  9:40pm
Tim Horton:

HEY!!
  9:40pm
Skirkie:

No Ken. I took the stairs the rest of the week, since I do the same at home and work.
  9:40pm
G:

For reasons I won't mention to avoid frightening people elsewhere in the world beyond NYC, I have been very careful about getting on and off my building's elderly elevator ever since late last year.
  9:41pm
PB:

@Tim, I think you mean EH!
  9:42pm
Tim Horton:

Hose off! :-)
  9:44pm
Marmalade Kitty:

does anyone know if the t-shirts are the same size as last year? (medium size was on the small side)
  9:48pm
SteveL:

Oh,, please do NOT say Brill.
  9:53pm
Van in DC:

Love to hear those phones ringing :)
  9:54pm
Van in DC:

@MK - you always need to get a size larger than what you really want in cases like this :)
  9:58pm
G:

I second Van. I'm a medium, but I always get any kind of cotton t-shirt in large, because they shrink a little every time you launder them. They are largeish at first, but end up actually medium
  10:01pm
slim:

I'm a Canadian. Let's play sum music!
  10:01pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Thanks Van, G.. ;)
  10:02pm
Barkevious Shabazz:

Frank, Cookie and I celebrated Cash Wednesday on Cash Tuesday by pledging a 3 way between EFD, Tom and Pseu.
  10:03pm
Dave B:

Hey efd!

My pledges go in tomorrow, but you get a slice. Not listening at the moment as I'm rebuilding the streaming box. Just know, I want your premium!

(that sounds wrong)

blrghalarughah~~~

VIVA LA FREE FORM!!!!

Pskrillex:

800 #'s won't connect from Canada
  10:05pm
Van in DC:

Oh hey, by the way, what was the $$$ goal of the Jim Price show? Anybody know? $25 maybe? :) (I love that show, and it got a equal share of my donation last night between like 10 shows...just not efd's ha ha )
  10:06pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Heyyyy, I pledged half an hour ago. Wha' happened to my pledge? You guys burn it or something?
  10:07pm
G:

@Wendy: Let's hope the elevator didn't eat it...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08pm
pseu:

wendy did you pledge online or on the phone?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm
efd:

Pskrillex, I recommend pledging online for those out of the country.
  10:10pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Pseu, I pledged on the phone. Should I rat out who took my pledge?

G: Oh no, is the elevator busted again!?
  10:12pm
G:

From what I've read, the question is are old elevators ever actually fixed. I have to use old elevators all the time myself, in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
  10:12pm
sybil:

Hey all! I have saved my donation fo9r EFD!

And I think I will stilll be the owner in name of the blinky things. I hope so.
  10:13pm
Mike East:

Alright, I've done my duty. Thank you efd and WFMU and all the listeners. We're all in this together. Time to pony up!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm

got it, Wendy -- paper stuck together!
  10:17pm
?:

Tony, from Victoria B.C. very inspired by this show in particular,.. and others as well ,...thankyou!
  10:17pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Pseu, whew! Too much gum-chewing in the phone room? DETENTION! :-D
  10:19pm
Van in DC:

Can't wait for all the Premiums to arrive. So ship them already! :)
  10:19pm
Julie:

Wendy is "going to a better place??" OMG OMG
  10:21pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Julie, yes. Not in the Christian sense, don't worry. Hahaha.
Vermont. THAT better place.
  10:22pm
Julie:

It was a funny way to put it!
  10:22pm
Van in DC:

I put in an adoption request for an FMU DJ last night, with like 4 backups. I'm certain that I'll end up with the janitor for some reason though. That's my kind of luck.
  10:24pm
G:

Van: It takes up to 48 hours or so for the adoption to show up in the adoption gallery, in my experience. Give em a few days.
  10:24pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

I thought so, too, Julie.
Funnier than Wispride, at least. D'oh!
  10:25pm
G:

Wendy says Wispride is no laughing matter.
  10:26pm
Van in DC:

Well hey, if I end up with the janitor, maybe that will be his/her push to greatness ;)
  10:26pm
Marc:

O & A are Radio Gods!!!
  10:27pm
Barkevious Shabazz:

Nothing's funnier than Wispride, the pride of Sheboygan.
  10:28pm
sybil:

Hey all! I stought I'd have to compete for my bit of the infrastructurure: but no!

All these Muxes belong to me!

And I've given not enough during the EFD show (she sobs for Timmeh!) - but join me! Bring on the funk!
  10:28pm
glenn:

yep, it's tim horton.
  10:29pm
Holly in NC:

Hi Evan & all!

@Sybil - good luck with blinky things! I lost the singles bin - but gained the Miner!

@anyone - so I already made my annual pledge online, but didn't specify any shows - is there any way to do so?
  10:32pm
Van in DC:

@Holly - I would email Joe McGasko at wfmu...he helped me out a lot. He is the person that is the point of contact for all pledging stuff.
  10:32pm
sybil:

hey holly - yeah miner! Y'all - do it! Yeah hogies!
  10:34pm
EastVanHalen:

I hear you all were short on actual Canadians. Board needs more toques.
  10:35pm
glenn:

i'm wearing my kenora dinner jacket as we speak, evh.
  10:36pm
EastVanHalen:

Excellent. Before they know it we'll have taken over.
  10:37pm
G:

Nardwuar's toque was stolen right off his head by Sebastian Bach, as documented on Monday's installment. That adds to the shortage.
  10:38pm
Van in DC:

@EVH - hurry up with that already :)
  10:38pm
glenn:

does nardwuar still have a mullet?
  10:39pm
G:

Ask Sebatian Bach :-)
  10:39pm
sybil:

Hey EFD fans: you know you love it! so pledge already!
  10:39pm
glenn:

i'll indian wrestle you for the kaurice disc, wendy.
  10:40pm
glenn:

ooopks. laurice.
  10:42pm
SteveL:

OMG: The pure, unfiltered sound of Pseu's voice.

It, it, its overwhelming.
  10:42pm
sybil:

I'm about to count my FMU shirts. You don't want me going there. Trust me. Pledge now!
  10:44pm
glenn:

hitler wants to see ktaftwerk. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4yohA0ZVt4
  10:44pm
Van in DC:

Dammit. I did that last night Evan.
  10:44pm
G:

The scalpers run massively multiple login software. You can't outclick that manually, it's like a denial-of-service attack flooding a computer system.
  10:45pm
glenn:

my typing is shit tonight. aiee.
  10:45pm
SteveL:

Faan, faan, faan!
  10:49pm
Van in DC:

Again, dammit! I paid in full for that amount last night. Too early I guess.
  10:50pm
sybil:

Man, oh, manny, I hope I get the wall of blinky things.
,sobs>
  10:51pm
Van in DC:

And you guys lost the renter on the first floor, is that right?
  10:52pm
Holly in NC:

@efd - I hope you know part of my pledge TOTALLY goes to you! This is the disadvantage of pledging early :-(

@sybil - I'm rooting for you!
  10:53pm
sybil:

You know you want to being on the Funk, neh?
  10:54pm
glenn:

r.i.p. frankie venom.
  10:54pm
G:

@Van: They would like to make the ground floor a performance space, but then they have to replace the former rent plus find renovation money. Everything is money, folks!

Did you move yet, Van? Am I recalling that right?
  10:54pm
sybil:

That was "bring", not being.
  10:56pm
Holly in NC:

I so love this song (Disgusteen)! I already own it, but I bet a lot of my fellow listeners do not... Evan can recify that...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm

Van, that $1k Kraftwerk thing was totally off the cuff - you couldn't have seen it coming! Thanks for your very generous pledge in any case!

Heh, I'm global domination. And YOU CAN TOO!
  11:07pm

Augh, I'm still paying off my $185 from last fall! Must...give...more...money...
  11:07pm
G:

Tom would say: "I'm SICK to my STOMACH! MIKE! Bring my car around!"
  11:08pm
sybil:

EFD and Pseu, I'm about out of it. But folks, if you love this show (and you do) Please give till it hurts!

What would we do without WFMU?

Love y'all!
  11:09pm
Devin:

"Mike! Mike! MIKE! MIKE! GET THE CAR!!" --This is what I want all DJs to say when the phones stop ringing.
  11:10pm
Andrew Wateroo:

C'mon, Canadian music is the evolution between King Cobb Steelie and Holy Fuck
  11:10pm
sybil:

G'night! And... sad for Timmeh!
  11:10pm
glenn:

it's true. i don't remember EVER ONCE hearing about nick gilder in history class. thank you evan.
  11:10pm
Holly in NC:

I think problem here is efd listeners are SO dedicated that many of us give early?
  11:13pm
Holly in NC:

Should I mention that I am barely upright, sick & dizzy from a perforated eardrum? But I can & will support the Funk! GUILT TRIP, guys!!!
  11:14pm
SteveL:

Holly: You did not have our permission to perforate your eardrum. Kids!
  11:16pm
glenn:

did that big honking palmetto bug fly into your ear, holly?
  11:17pm
sybil:

holly, i'd have to mention that i'm half asleep, not rational, and barely functional. What we do for love, eh?

And now I've really got to go top bed
  11:18pm
EastVanHalen:

Ok, ok, I'm in. And broke. So don't pick on me like you did that poor bastard who pledged $50. :)
  11:19pm
Van in DC:

Suggestion for future levels: (1) to be there at WFMU during a live set recording. This should start at $1,000 I think. (2) Meet WFMU DJ's of your choice - this should be limited to 2 DJs of your choice, I think, and the experience should be like an hour or something. Cost? Probably $2000 or so. Oh. Wait. I missed a decimal point. I meant $20,000 of course! :)
  11:21pm
Holly in NC:

Apparently my ears are my Achilles' heel. This happened once before back in 2003- though that time it was both ears, way worse. Just comes out of the blue - hey, I'm sleeping - wait NO I'm in AGONY.

Anyway, what's important is that I have ONE GOOD EAR TO LISTEN TO EFD!
  11:21pm
Van in DC:

and the 2 DJ's should get like 1/3 of the $$$ each by the way :)
  11:22pm
sybil:

EastVanHalen, even if you gave $1, nless you. I was in that state for oh too long.

I am happy to be able to compete for muxes, but I never forget.

And now, to bed.,...
  11:26pm
sybil:

That was "bless you", not "nless you"

As Kima keeps saying in The Wire... f* me, I can't type!
  11:27pm
EastVanHalen:

G'night sybil! Get some rest, already. Cheers.
  11:29pm
Van in DC:

Way past my bedtime too. I rarely ever catch efd live. I've enjoyed the presentation Sir Evan, with co-host that I know not....Pseu? But I live a pretty sheltered life, so there's that. And, I'm still pretty new around here. Ya'll have a wonderful evening.

Thanks and goodnight Van & Sybil!
Van, you can catch Pseu on Friday nights between 9 and midnight - and via archive, of course!
  11:31pm
EastVanHalen:

Van, you've never listened to Pseu's Thing With A Hook? Fridays! Found it last summer and that's how I found WFMU. This is my first pledge marathon, aw.
  11:31pm
glenn:

my old bookkeeper was in klaatu.
  11:35pm
Van in DC:

I'll have to remember to catch Pseu's show. (Yeah, that will probably be another pledge lol) Thanks for the suggestion. Incidentally, it is Julie, and Julie Dark Night of the Soul alone that is responsible for me finding this place. I kind of accidentally found her on twitter posting about Toyah. Led me here. Okay, out, good night all.
  11:41pm
EastVanHalen:

Ahem. Stephanie from Vancouver, Canada here. What did I say about picking on me for not donating 75 bucks? HMMMMMMMMMMMM?????
  11:42pm
EastVanHalen:

I kid, I kid.
  11:42pm
G:

Cmon, EVH, Pseu's made an entire career out of picking on people! :-)

I kid, I kid!
  11:47pm
EastVanHalen:

Ha, this crowd would be more amenable to skipping a meal a week than cutting back on booze to free up $$$$.
  11:47pm
glenn:

post your cute cheerleader photo again, evh.
  11:48pm
EastVanHalen:

Sure, but only if someone makes a mouse pledge.
  11:49pm
G:

yes, glenn? :-P
  11:55pm
G:

One more Mouse Pledge or two 180 pledges would hit the goal. (I pledged last week.)
  11:55pm
Holly in NC:

Another great artist I learned about via efd! Hasn't anyone else found a new fave?
  11:58pm
EastVanHalen:

And at the close of the show, let's take a moment to remember Pierre Juneau, the man who created CanCon, who died yesterday.
  11:58pm
SteveL:

Oooo, 93!
  11:59pm
EastVanHalen:

Woo-hoo, mouse pledge!
  7:52am
Sin Ick:

How about we all pledge $1.2m so we don't have the Matathon?
