  12:10am
Danne D:

Therese thanks for playing what's probably my favorite Cheap Trick song :)
  12:11am
miss cheri:

hny danne
  12:12am
Chop Scott:

Therese!
Cheap Trick starter into Syd--wonderful...
  12:12am
Danne D:

hey cheri
  12:14am
Therese:

Hello Cheri, Danne & Scott! Thanks for stopping by!
  12:17am
James in ATL:

I saw Cheap Trick a couple of weeks ago and they are still terrific. Great track. Happy New Year Therese!
  12:22am
Danne D:

This has a nice XTC vibe to it.
  12:25am
miss cheri:

therese do you have any van morrison tunes tonight??
  12:28am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Sweet GBV cover!
  12:29am
Therese:

Happy New Year, James! How many times did Rick Nielsen change guitars?
  12:33am
James in ATL:

He changed guitars for every song. Everyone in my group caught at least one guitar pick. The highlight was they played Abbey Road side 2 Medley and it was awesome.
  12:33am
miss cheri:

therese i guess you don't have any van morrison,,,if not no prob.
  12:34am
word to the wise:

if you can't talk right, play music
  12:36am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Geezerpalooza??? (ha!)
  12:36am
Danne D:

Saw Cheap Trick in college at Mabel's in Champaign, IL back in '91 or '92. Mabel's is long gone: http://www.thirdav.com/hd_discog/clubs/V_mabels.html
  12:41am
Danne D:

There is something oddly charming about a website (songkick) listing shows at a venue that closed about 12 years ago. It correctly states that there are 0 concerts upcoming: http://www.songkick.com/venues/64541-mabels
  12:43am
Danne D:

Looking at the concert list, I now retroactively regret not seeing Adrian Belew there back in October of '89 when I was in school.
  12:44am
Chop Scott:

Cheap Trick is such a particular fave--saw them as teen in the Midwest (gulp!) in the very late 70's/early 80's many many times. Great band.
  12:48am
miss cheri:

therese & danne my fave cheap trick tunes are dream police & in the street (the theme to that 70s show)
  12:59am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I love the California Man / High Roller / Auf Wiedersehen trifecta on Heaven Tonight. I wish CT would rerecord that album with Steve Albini like they did with In Color.
  1:05am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Sinistar???
  1:07am
miss cheri:

well good night therese and everyone!!
  1:09am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Good night miss cheri.
  1:35am
Bill:

Thanks for Del Shannon version of go to Pieces. i saw Peter Asher's show this this summer and did not realize until then it was a del Song.
  1:37am
Tarantino:

you are playing some nice stuff tonite, but overall i definitely like your Dec 19th show best.
  1:38am
Bill:

Hmm. Capitalized "song" but not Del.
One other thing about Del. Friend worked Bottom Line for 20 years, asked what was best show in that time, he says Del, without question.
  1:39am
Therese:

Thanks, Tarantino! Wait... whuuuuttt?
  1:39am
Kirsten (Clay's wife):

Good evening Therese. Great sounds. By the way, your platypus (also known as the duckmole) trivia at the party last night was confirmed in Wikipedia. But I believed you all along.
  1:53am
Therese:

Thank you, Kirsten! I did realize upon looking that "platypi" is not an accepted pluralization of "platypus." "Platypus," "platypuses," or "platypodes" would have been better.
  1:53am
Danne D:

The Dec 19th show will now be referred to as the "Classic Therese" era ;o)

Seriously though, your show is fabulous as always. You bring it week in and week out :)

Alas I will have to hit the last hour on archive as 'tis getting late. Good night everyone!
  1:56am
Kirsten:

Indeed, I saw that platypi is deemed "pseudo Latin." Which I use often and approve of! But the Greco inspired "pladypodes" comes in a close second.
  1:59am
Danne D:

Okay, coming back for a sec to say that either every song sounds like XTC to me these days or that this song is at least the 2nd one tonight that reminds me of them. Probably even moreso that the first that did. (It's also excellent) :)
  2:02am
Julie:

you played syd
  2:06am
Danne D:

TMBG's song "Mammal" goes through some of this too :)
  2:06am
Julie:

post party crash?
  2:06am
Danne D:

Anyway I really have to go :) Have good night everyone. Hi/Bye Julie :D and take care Therese!
  2:07am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I don't know if you checked Discogs for info on that Ducktails single, but the info on there is usually reliable. http://www.discogs.com/Ducktails-Mirror-Image/release/2393219
  2:07am
Therese:

'Night, Danne!
  2:07am
Therese:

Total post-party crash, Julie.
  2:09am
Julie:

  2:12am
Julie:

  2:13am
felix:

i miss puss..
  2:13am
Tarantino:

there was clearly a reason no one was using that pitcher.
  2:15am
Therese:

The devil take that pitcher!
  2:19am
Kirsten:

pastelpuss
  2:20am
Julie:

the pitcher was great! Is there something I don't know?
  2:22am
Tarantino:

no but there's something we don't know: WHEN TO QUIT!
  2:23am
?:

Quit drinking? Surely you jest
  2:25am
Julie:

oops that was me!
  2:25am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I was expecting The Knife or planningtorock after the Andy Stott track. :D
  2:27am
Julie:

Is this like Dark Cabaret?
  2:30am
Tarantino:

great "Fire in Cairo" remix by Digitalism:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRy9PEtu7Ys
  2:31am
Therese:

Right? Maybe I should go grab a Tiger Lilies record...
  2:34am
Julie:

Looks like David E Williams worked on some Rozz Williams records, but I can't find out if they're related or not. I guess not since Rozz changed his name
  2:35am
Julie:

"liberace with a brain tumor" nice
  2:36am
T-Zero:

@Julie: mentioning dark cabaret, you ever listened to Milva do Brecht?
  2:37am
Julie:

@T-zero no I haven't, I will check it out.
  2:38am
Therese:

Speaking of Liberace: http://www.oldcookbooks.com/product/4457/Liberace-Cooks.html
  2:38am
Julie:

oooh Death in June!
  2:40am
Julie:

  2:40am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Backmasking?
  2:41am
Julie:

Therese apparently I showed up just in time for the "dark" set
  2:42am
Tarantino:

i like yr 'Late Night Psilocybin Set.' i'm tripping off to sleep.
  2:42am
Julie:

except when I brushed my teeth. I don't know what happened then.
  2:44am
T-Zero:

@Julie: She's done a lot of Brechy, but look for her album simply titled "Brecht" for the cabaret stuff. I did a quick YouTube search but didn't find what I wanted for you.
  2:44am
Kirsten:

Ahh. Metal.
  2:45am
Julie:

Milva Canta Brecht
  2:46am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

SHAMELESS PLUG: If you like Mastodon check out the band I manage. http://maleveller.bandcamp.com/
  2:46am
T-Zero:

Right! But I didn't want all of her opera house stuff ;) I was looking for her 1975 cabaret work
  2:47am
Therese:

Sometimes nothing else will do, Kirsten!
  2:49am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Therese, tonight's selections have gone well with the thunder outside.
  2:51am
T-Zero:

@Julie ... the album cover

http://tinyurl.com/83dy73y
  2:53am
Julie:

thanks!
  2:54am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

This makes me think of "Meddle"-era Pink Floyd.
  2:54am
Julie:

@Bad Yes!
  2:55am
Julie:

I mean I agree, not the band Yes
  2:55am
T-Zero:

@Julie: I love that cover. I used to have a framed copy that was about 3-feet square.
  2:56am
Julie:

wow
  2:56am
Kirsten:

LOL
  2:58am
Julie:

I can't hear Scottish songs without thinking of Brigadoon
  2:59am
Kirsten:

This should be your closing song every night
  3:03am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Good night, Therese. Have a fabulous week!
