Familiar & forgotten gems from 50-plus years of music on the darker side, shoegaze, synthpop, goth, psychedelia, darkwave, with unapologetic detours into 70s pop. In a dark night of the soul, it's always 3 o'clock in the morning.

Also it's worth following the #GOPMuppetHearings hashtag, it's got a lot of laughs after a certain, large, US network aired a piece comparing the Muppets to Communists.
Got a couple of hours sleep last night, house alarm woke me up, someone tried to get the front door open, fun fun!

@other david: yes, I'm sure my decision to participate in the dancing demonstration today is a direct result of being indoctrinated by the leftist Muppets since childhood :)

Was an obsessive fan in my terrible teens :)

@fred: yeah, but of course I'm totally basing this on the "Twin Peaks" thing, so the date could be completely off

@Sam: hey, "Red Dwarf" already proved that JFK actually assassinated himself after some time travel, so Julie is exonerated

I love how the discussion has gone, roughly, Muppets -> Red Dwarf -> Ken Russell -> Anne-Margret -> Diana Rigg

Emma Peel as "Queen of Sin" (come on, her name at the club makes the episode even more awesome): http://www.imagesofsexywomen.com/actress/emma-peel-the-queen-of-sin

@Brick: yes indeed. I always loved Wyndgarde. And he looks way better without a moustache. Also loved him as Number 2 on "The Prisoner". That voice saying the great dialogue...

@Julie It was Ian Fleming's, natch!

@Brick: I think Linda is underrated, but not as good as the other 3. I just think the type of character she played was not as appealing to me.

@Pierre OSS 117 sounds really interesting.
@Caryn Rachael is quite a looker, but she's no Diana. Seems like a good sort though!
other david:
More of Le Carré style spy fiction fan myself, Ingrid Pitt actually had a small role in the BBC's adaption of Smiley's People.
I still havent watched the big screen adaption of Tinker, Tailor - a lot of fans of the Beeb adaption & book are highly critica and the trailer looked all wrong - which has put me off.

@ Brick Van Dee : Jacques Tati is a master, a true artist of the cinema, i love him very very much.
@ Julie : it's totally possible, after their promotion tournée, they could have needed vacation. Thanks for Bananarama… :)

Great show once again, Julie!
Matt from Springfield:
When the first significant Hell's Angels fight broke out, one of them punched Marty on stage, interrupting the song. So I looked up Altamont and sure enough: Dec 6 1969, it was the anniversary of that that day. So whether it was a coincidence or not, you happened to play that JA track on the anniversary of Altamont and someone very subtly pointed that out! What an astonishing puzzle and solution!
Andrew:
Loving this Inkkbus Sukkubus track (I've listened to their live set a few times now, love em!)
mmm they are still playing reruns of the Avengers here, Diana Rigg is hot ^_^
hehe, James bond is good & Danger mouse! i love that show. and Count Duckula! that is sad one of the creators died recently...just makes me feel older...
Don't know much about Le Carre...or OSS 117...
The Visitors is one of my favourite french comedy movies ^_^ (I like the Tati movie with the postman on the bike)
Don't know much about the Magic Roundabout....
Bananarama Pistols cover was pretty funny ^_^
I remember doing the Floyd/Oz synch thing & we thought it didn't match up very well...
Get it On by Blondie was a nice one to hear ^_^ (I love T-Rex)
hehe, that was interesting & cool Matt ^_^
I missed out on such a good night! (also first time I've seen anyone else comment after the night)
