  3:28am
Matt from Springfield:

I've heard of the band Gandalf before, first time hearing them! They're great, this show's going great, the late 60s-early 70s music era was great, it's ALL good!
  3:33am
Marmalade kitty:

observatory crest! great set of music! Will you be taking the winter slot, Chris?
  3:34am
luis:

hey, what's that background music called/how could i locate it?
  3:35am
T-Zero:

Sorry to digress, but just want to tell MK she was right. I checked out the songs on YouTube. The kids show's played both songs (ie mud, mud...) but it *was* the Christmas so I heard most recently that cracked me up. So it wasn't British after all.
  3:35am
Dan Quayle:

Potatoe
  3:37am
Marmalade kitty:

TZ, I love it. It insired me to buy a cuddly hippo for my neice last christmas :)
  3:39am
Fink Ployd:

Mclean Family Stevenson! This is good stuff.
  3:40am
Marmalade kitty:

Louis, the music was a remix, I think, of observatory crest Captain Beefheart Magic band - Blue jeans & moonbeams
  3:40am
chris m.:

the background music is an exclusive remix of Observatory Crest by Captain Beefheart.

i am very excited that this will be my slot for the winter schedule!

thanks everybody
  3:40am
T-Zero:

@MK: I was obsessing after Brian quoted mud, mud, as that just didn't seem goofy enough. And I was quite sure it was about wanting a hippo. lol
  3:41am
Marmalade kitty:

Sorry, Luis ;)
  3:41am
Phil Bodner:

Bone Solo!
  3:43am

  3:46am
Congolia:

Good show, Chris.
listening in So Lake Tahoe, CA (till phone battery runs out)
  3:49am
Minnesota Jeff:

Why is this making me think of like a freaked out version of the closing music for Saturday Night Live?
  3:50am
kiemzi:

ha! i was just saying that it sounds like a nonstop final flourish or something!
  3:50am
kiemzi:

finale, i mean. i like it!
  3:51am
Torque:

This song needs WD40. Now it sounds like New Year's Eve. Now it's flirting with Klezmer. Artie Shaw on Darvon. Now it's Robin Trower.
  3:51am
T-Zero:

@MK: I like listening to the show as they do a lot of stories like The Magic Finger, the Lighthouse Keeper series, Teddybears Picnic, and of course singles that are pretty catchy like Captain Kumara.
  3:54am
Marmalade kitty:

this is awesome
  3:58am
Minnesota Jeff:

Sac Trust!!! YES!

Caryn:

Okay, so the scientists can't pronounce "telemetry" and that dog scene was kinda unnecessary if the damn thing isn't gonna be smuggled on board, but the music is damn catchy.
  5:22am
neil from heidelberg:

While you're being blasted off, let me give you a special relativity lesson.
  5:23am
Caryn:

And I love the "I know you're all stressed and kinda busy with liftoff, but I gotta mention this Einstein thing just to prove that the writers did a lot of background research" thing.
  5:23am
Bas, NL:

I love the juicy retro computer knob sounds..

  5:27am
pierre:

"Chris M." et non "Chros M." sorry
  5:28am
Caryn:

I think I'm 12. I just giggled at the narrator's "penetrating Alpha Centauri" line.
  5:29am
neil from heidelberg:

If one of them says nay, that's gonna be an awkward ride home.
  5:31am
kiemzi:

i did too, caryn. also, is matt barry on this crew?
  5:32am
chris m.:

i just wish you could see their faces when they're going at light speed
  5:33am
Caryn:

Ok, the other British guy pronounced "theory" so badly, it sounded like he said "That's what the fairy says. " Suddenly everything sounded very un-PC.
  5:35am
kiemzi:

oops i mean matt berry
  5:37am
Caryn:

Ok, guidance is down, they're off course... And this is how they became "Lost in Space"!
  5:38am
kiemzi:

plus they're like a billion miles off course!
  5:39am

  5:50am
Marmalade kitty:

remember blake 7, jay?
  5:50am
Caryn:

How progressive, they're letting the woman drive... I'm sure at the time that seemed revolutionary.
  5:50am
kiemzi:

oh, phew. they're headed back to earth. so, everything's probably going to be fine!
  5:51am
Jay/ London:

oh yes kitty i do
  5:54am
kiemzi:

good pep talk.
  5:55am
kiemzi:

they should totally panic, imho.
  5:56am
Caryn:

They're not panicking, but the ship's band is obviously getting more tense.
  5:57am
Caryn:

I just keep wondering how they've done this with the SFX of the day. Or whether they're just staring at screens, describing things the audience never gets to see to save on the budget. Although, they'd probably spend more on the pilot ep.
  5:58am
kiemzi:

uuuuh. pretty sure that is the final word, narrator. sorry.
  5:59am
kiemzi:

hey, that was fun, thanks chris m!
  6:00am
neil from heidelberg:

I wish the International space station had an in-house band to punctuate the drama of low-Earth orbit.
  6:01am
Caryn:

Well, at least Gerry Anderson had his supermarionation shows to fall back on.
  6:01am
Marmalade kitty:
