While working in the film industry for 30 years I met a lot of folks ...I shared a car ride upstate to film location with John Belushi. I never watched tv so i had no idea who he was.
I was introduced to Vivian Leigh backstage at an off broadway show that her boyfriend was in ...I was the crew.
Tony perkins cruised me one day in the west village. I was so taken aback I laughed and he said "well. excuse me" and rode off on his bicycle.
I got in an elevator at my therapist's office one day and saw woody allen standing in the back. as I faced front someone said Hi Gary and I slowly turned around the other way and it was danny aiello, with whom i had just worked with on a feature film.
Well, I guess i could go on...but, like, you know....it was a lot of years. oh, and...

aforementioned companion said to me: "how much will you give me to run up to him and say, 'oh Moby! I love you so much!'?"
said companion is much cleverer than me.

But I remember inviting Ertha Kitt for champagne after her performance at the Carlilse offering her a movie role (don't ask). Her new record "Back in Business" was just out and I said in ernest, "My Boyfriend loves your new albumn. It is perfect for cleaning house!"
She laughed, said "You are trouble.", and accepted the role.
Alas, movie never made.
BTW, good evening.

1) The B-52s renting "Hillbillies from Outer Space"
2) Tom Waits and Jim Jarmusch hanging out , making selection together
3) Kathleen Turner somewhat tipsy, with her husband tobe
4) Tony Randall, who only rented operas and ballets, with the exception of "Barry Lyndon," which he declared a masterpiece
5) Saw Jackie O at MOMA and Yoko Ono in Central Park after opening day for "Blue Velvet;" both were visibly wary when they saw me staring at them, no doubt due to what happened to their husbands
