Hi Duane.
Anyone seen Beats, Rhymes and Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest? Probably see it this weekend.
  12:12pm
Mike East:

A good friend wrote a review. He loved it.
  12:12pm
Duane:

Hi still b/p! I saw it and it's excellent!
  12:13pm

  12:21pm
Parakeet:

The best coming down from a trip song!
  12:21pm
Girls of summer:

Geez, we go out back for a smoke and everyone thinks we're gone, now some idiot has even written a song about it. Next time we'll leave a note for Pete's sake.
  12:22pm
Boys of summer:

Oh, WE know where they went.
  12:23pm
Parakeet:

They are right behind YOU!!!
  12:26pm
Parakeet:

Wow did I just wander into a Modell's Sporting Good store with this music?
  12:28pm
Cecile:

Hi, Duane! All!
  12:32pm
Barry Manilow:

Anybody care for a love song? No?
  12:33pm
Three Dog Night:

Is it old fashioned?
  12:33pm
Bob Eliot:

I'd like an Old Fashioned.
  12:35pm
Parakeet:

Ooooo is that what they call "that" today?
  12:36pm
Parakeet:

Hi Duane. Ruff!
  12:37pm
Parakeet:

  12:39pm
Parakeet:

  12:40pm
slugluv1313:

  12:42pm
Duane:

Thanx guys! I'm better already!!
  12:43pm
Cecile:

Damn. It would have been better if Sunshine would have died.
  12:43pm
Parakeet:

Hey Bobby had a number one hit on my birthday, May 8
  12:44pm
Cecile:

You got the Ethel Merman disco album?
  12:44pm
Cecile:

He had the most amazing helmet hair. And was a good Glen Campbell analog.
  12:44pm
R I S K Y:

Duane, you cuts cut very deep...
  12:44pm
Parakeet:

I would love a copy of that!!!
  12:45pm

Doctor B.:

Frank Sinatra's got nuthin' on Ms. Reese! (I actually met the guy who wrote this song many years ago!)
  12:46pm
Parakeet:

Too late!!!
  12:47pm
Cecile:

I know. What a voice. Even in my punk years I appreciated Glen. The Anne Murray duets album is actually really beautiful.
  12:47pm
abby:

i'm sure you hear this all the time, but i've always hated that song--and now i love it!! feel better....
  12:47pm
slugluv1313:

i thought Joy was a once a super-expensive perfume -- ??!!
  12:47pm
Cheri Pi:

I just love this song by Jorge Ben,
  12:48pm
Cecile:

From interviers, I understand Glen is pretty healthy, has a good sense of humor about it, and can remember many things if you sing them to him. The music isn't gone, but everything else that could bring it to market is starting to wane. :(
  12:48pm
Doctor B.:

I once found an album of psychedelia by Jorge Ben.
  12:49pm
Doctor B.:

I'm sorry, but Glen who?
  12:50pm
still b/p:

Saw Glen in a TV appearance a while back, and he repeated a verse of Gentle On My Mind, which seemed odd. It was before his announcement. Now I wonder. And good for him for saying no to retreat, defeat and isolation for now.
  12:50pm
abby:

glen campbell i think.
  12:51pm
Cecile:

Glen Campbell
  12:53pm
Cheri Pi:

psychedelia or tropicalia?
  12:54pm
Cecile:

AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEeeeee. Bread.
The darkest band of the 70s.
I am serious. So depressing. Well-done but depressing.
  12:55pm
Cheri Pi:

my Aunt with bad taste loved Bread...

  1:09pm
Cecile:

where can I find that time is running out? Those harmonies were unique!
  1:11pm
Duane:

Cecile: Tough one. I got the record at a yard sale in Newark 6 years ago and I haven't really seen it around. 'FMU premium maybe??
  1:12pm
Cheri Pi:

This is badass Duane.
  1:14pm
Duane:

Cheri; :)
  1:15pm
Cecile:

I never heard choral harmonies sound so horn-like before. Also had a Saharan Africa vibe as well...
  1:15pm
Cecile:

The Equals need an Unsung.
  1:16pm
Duane:

Cecile: Yes they definitely do!

  1:37pm
Cheri Pi:

Philip Mitchell is like the Monks...I hate you baby, but call me
  1:38pm
Duane:

Phillip's a cold, mutha sucka!
  1:41pm

  2:17pm
Duane:

vanessa: Hahaha. yeah, it seems a bit of a shady set!
  2:19pm
mick:

  2:27pm
vanessa:

did phenomenal handclap band also sample from daydream? the flute bit in the background sounds kind of like the one in 'baby'.
  2:28pm
Wild Neil:

This is rockin'!!!!!!!!!!!
  2:28pm
Julie:

I never knew Buddy Rich sounded like he was 12
  2:29pm
juli:

buddy rich would routinely destroy his drum kit if he thought someone was missing the beat
  2:29pm
Duane:

juli: I think his daughter Cathy was singing the lead
  2:30pm
Julie:

she still sounds like a 12 year old boy
  2:30pm

  2:55pm
ScottC:

I miss Sylvester. He was the Heart And Soul of a certain period in SF. Bless him.
  2:56pm
still b/p:

Hm. Notice how the Could It Be Magic portion sounded like Toni Braxton's Unbreak My Heart? Google the titles together and get a Lynda Carter video(!) with a note about how Braxton "manipulated and resonged" the Manilow number. Hm.
  2:59pm
Sabine:

This Queen Esther Marrow track just blew my mind!
