	5:43am T-Zero: From your selections today I think you'd like him. I don't know as he's introducing any innovative new musical vision but I like him and he doesn't seem to get much airtime. (None at WFMU as far as I could find.) I first heard him on a local NPR station.

I just read about Taj Mahal on wokipedia (cos i think there's an aussie band called taj mahal?) & it was interesting to hear his take on blues & that not many black people listen to blues anymore. I don't know any Taj albums, Looms Blowing The Fuse is a good series with music like this Mike Gordon... the local library has about 6 or 7 of them, then go from 1946 to 1959 I think. 	5:46am Brian in UK: Looms, yes get a copy it's Taj with Toumani Diabati, arguably the greatest kora player right now. Kulanjan is a tune originally played by Toumani's dad over 20 years ago. The two players complement each other very well, the blues with African roots.
	5:46am Andrew: There's no record shops in my town, have to go 2 towns over. Even the local Kmart has only about 30 CDs! Tonights been a good night ^_^

	5:43am T-Zero: From your selections today I think you'd like him. I don't know as he's introducing any innovative new musical vision but I like him and he doesn't seem to get much airtime. (None at WFMU as far as I could find.) I first heard him on a local NPR station.

I just read about Taj Mahal on wokipedia (cos i think there's an aussie band called taj mahal?) & it was interesting to hear his take on blues & that not many black people listen to blues anymore. I don't know any Taj albums, Looms Blowing The Fuse is a good series with music like this Mike Gordon... the local library has about 6 or 7 of them, then go from 1946 to 1959 I think. 	5:46am Brian in UK: Looms, yes get a copy it's Taj with Toumani Diabati, arguably the greatest kora player right now. Kulanjan is a tune originally played by Toumani's dad over 20 years ago. The two players complement each other very well, the blues with African roots.
