Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from August 19, 2011 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Have we reached the lunch discussion portion of the show?
  1:34pm
bryce:

but it's ramadan
  1:40pm
Cecile:

Yes. I think I am getting either Singapore noodles or bi bim bap for lunch.
  1:43pm
Cecile:

I have a funny story. This guy comes into my old job and wants to know the status of his application. I told him that it was incomplete and we'd sent him a letter. he said he forgot the paperwork because of Ramadan. I reminded him that Akeen Olajuwon won back-to-back NBA Championships while fasting during Ramadan so that wasn't an excuse.. He proceeded to ignore me and plead his case to my co-worker who was stifling laughter, but gave him the same bad news.
  1:44pm
Cecile:

Hakeem.
  1:44pm
yum:

Lun(ch)armonics
  1:44pm
Cecile:

I can be adorably insufferable sometimes.
  1:45pm
βrian:

I miss Bi Bim Bap. It's pretty scarce in WI, so I make my own version with grated beets. Fer yummy.
  1:45pm
Cecile:

NOM.

No big Asian supermarket in Milwaukee or Madison?
  1:46pm
bryce:

cecile, hahahaaaaaaaa
  1:46pm
nic:

this is great
  1:47pm
Cecile:

Also everyone else who was fasting for Ramadan in the room (an off-duty driver and an applicant) also started snickering.
  1:47pm
bryce:

hey, nic!

you're in luck....it goes on FOREVER
  1:47pm
βrian:

Precious little, but then I'm limited to Madison.
  1:48pm
GimmeShelter:

I'm just glad it's not an air raid siren.
  1:49pm
Cecile:

that's not good.

Another reason why Hakeem is cool:
"Olajuwon, who endorsed a sneaker made by Spalding which retailed for $35, is one of the very few well-known players in any professional sport to endorse a sneaker not from Nike, Reebok, Adidas, or other high-visibility retail brands. As Olajuwon declared: "How can a poor working mother with three boys buy Nikes or Reeboks that cost $120?...She can't. So kids steal these shoes from stores and from other kids. Sometimes they kill for them.""
  1:50pm
Cecile:

If you make it to Minneapolis, I highly recommend United Noodle. They have 3-4 aisles of Korean stuff alone. And they make Korean, Japanese and Taiwanese food in their deli.
  1:52pm
GimmeShelter:

Dear me. I spoke too soon.
  1:53pm
bryce:

i hope you bought waterrrr
  1:56pm
cubicle carl:

This sounds like the track from Smile that freaked out Brian.
  1:56pm
Wild Neil:

I sit near the door to the rest of the plant, so factory whooshing noises (flowing chemicals, pumps, etc) blend right in with this , so I can listen to this on speaker!
  1:58pm
bryce:

if only johannes kepler could be there...
  1:58pm
βrian:

My plant has aphids. The music makes them restless.
  1:59pm
Looms:

A neighbor has just come by to ask what I was listening to :(
  2:00pm
bryce:

tell them, "the heavens."

it's always best to be honest.
  2:00pm
βrian:

Gotta get those headphones fixed.
  2:01pm
amh:

Hey look! Bryce has played more than three tracks!
  2:02pm
Looms:

Oh fuck, I'm a fake!
  2:03pm
bryce:

did you at least offer them some drugs?
  2:04pm
Looms:

No drugs, no alcohol, no sex here! (please believe me)
  2:05pm
Wild Neil:

Vicks? Cough syrup? I have gaufenesin...and decaf green tea...
  2:07pm
bryce:

okay, guess i'll give interpol BSI's IP then....
  2:08pm
Looms:

Interpol? :(
Oh please, not again!
  2:13pm
BSI:

Hey now. That fingerprint transplant was a very expensive procedure. It's opened lots of doors. Literally. I've seen things that would curl your aphids like a dayglow vortex of couscous. On fire, yet.
  2:15pm
Looms:

I love couscous (just saying)
  2:15pm
Ike:

Interpol is not a bad band, but I wouldn't want them at my IP address.

"Dayglow vortex of couscous on fire"... I have to figure out how to work that into a romantic text message.
  2:16pm
bryce:

see what i mean?
  2:17pm
Looms:

No I don't, I'm a blind fake. Jeez, I suck!
  2:20pm

  2:28pm

  2:37pm

  2:38pm
bryce:

oh wow!
  2:39pm
amazon.com:

mp3 download "currently unavailable"
  2:40pm
Looms:

In France anyway.
  2:43pm
murph:

Looms: Musicworks is a great litlle magazine! They would release a cassette or a cd with each issue. The John Cage issue was pretty good, and i remember another one about pitfalls of sonic weaponry...
  2:44pm
G:

Maybe it's currently licensed for download only in certain countries??? The album's product page on the US amazon.com site says it consists of mp3s from the 1994 CD. -- Note: That's on amazon.com, not amazon.fr (I often can't get amazon.fr to ship me things at a US address :-) )
  2:45pm
iTunes:

I've got it! Can I be cool again?
  2:45pm
Looms:

@murph: thx you, sir! There are a few # available over here, will check it out.
  2:48pm
