Listener comments!

  3:06am
Knile:

Woop woop! On time-ish and will get to listen to most of the show this morning, first time in a while.
  3:08am
jj.:

top notch! good evening, knile + others radio-folk.
  3:21am
Elwyn:

Hey Everyone,

I don't think I've heard that version of Roadrunner.
  3:25am
-> Ming The Merciless <-:

Aaaaaaw, I missed Tuliā€¦ Best Greetings from Berlin / Gernay!
  3:39am
jj.:

hallo, ming. 'twas only a 30-second tuli track. and elwyn, that's from the modern lovers demos collection. maybe my fave version.
  3:42am
-> Ming The Merciless <-:

Yes, sometimes summer lasts just 30 seconds.
  4:15am
american:

The folded track in this # by Gertrude Stein is such an interesting meditation on speech, storytelling & Americanness.
  4:25am
an american, pt 2:

Awesome follow-up with those glitches, constructed by a pretty glitchy collage artist (KS). Plus, shout-out to Greg Davis!
  4:28am
jj.:

gracias!
  4:32am
an american, the redux,, pt 3:

De nada, Senor of Sound.
  4:44am
Knile:

Most laidback comments section I've seen in a while.
  4:46am
Knile:

Rile rile rile
  4:50am
greysoul:

Who's playing the crazycool blues harp on the Cale tune, Mr. DJ?
  4:58am
jj.:

good Q, meester graysoul. uncredited on both the LP + CD, seems like. the band was all session cats like harvey brooks, etc.. whoever the on-call harp player was at columbia c. 1970?
  4:59am
greysoul:

HA! Bob!
  5:03am
a.m. postscript:

Greysoul! There's a bird outside sing songing its way into this on the 2nd measure, albeit in a slightly more protracted time signature... Got a pretty sweet lilting harmony going until the darn church bells came in & pretty screwed it up.

Catholicism. <sigh>,
  5:15am
Knile:

After 15 years of listening to the Dead, I still don't know how I feel about Seastones.
  5:19am
greysoul:

And they would ask, "What would Jesus do?"

And I would say unto them, "Lay back and let the birds finish their riffing before coming in heavy on the bells."

It's that simple.
  5:21am
jj.:

while the seastones LP is a bit monochromatic, the live sets from '73 & '75 are pretty stellar, i think.
  5:28am
a.m., a.m.!:

Right-ee-o, G!

We'll find that scene in the sequel to R. Crumb's Book of Genesis: Real World Applications for Flora, Fauna, Melodies & Jesus.
  5:35am
greysoul:

Jeezum - wouldn't that be great?
  5:42am
Knile:

On every show, there's one track I want to hear that I miss. This time: Dinosaur makeout party. I blame coworkers.
  5:51am
a.m., b.c.:

I just heard from a 7 year old that when the dinosaurs existed, there was no sun. Anybody know whether this could in fact be the case?
  5:53am
Knile:

I am interested as to what other beliefs about natural history this 7 year old has. I smell a blog leading to a book deal for the two of you...
  5:54am
greysoul:

Thus we have no way of knowing what went down at the party.
  5:56am
jj.:

I think the lesson here is that what happens at the dinosaur makeout party stays at the dinosaur makeout party.
  5:57am
Knile:

I believe it was Piebald who sang "All you need is dinosaur kisses to start a dinosaur makeout party."
  5:59am
ante meridiem dinosaurs:

G: The book can have a big banner obfuscating the front, like they do in sneaky UNOFFICIAL releases. The editor's letter can detail how we got to the project through applying R. Crumb's name to further myth & then simply deflating it with a pun: By laying out bread crumbs from R. "Crumb" into the yonder.

The real question is: how much money are they going to hand over on this.

Knile, maybe that other project will be more lucrative? Other beliefs of the 7 yr old are chronicled with a rootbeer scented pencil. Maybe that is the key.

Anybody want to be involved?
  5:59am
greysoul:

"Hold on a sec - I got a scale in my mouth."
  6:14am
hamburger / london:

hello! (new schedule out yet?)
  6:15am
hamburger / london:

(oh, next week / dumb me)
  4:45pm
Paul Messis:

Thanks for playing my track on your show... It means alot to me.... thanks Paul
