Violet, live on WFMU
Violet is the performance moniker of Jeff Surak, head of the DC experimental / electro / noise label Zeromoon. Today, he tortures a toy zither with not much more than an e-bow and some little plastic toy robot bugs, one of which spent most of the set dancing around at Jeff's foot, just like in the end of Stroszek.

Blue Sausage Infant, live on WFMU
Chester Hawkins is the man behind Blue Sausage Infant, or BSI for short. Today he unleashes the fucking fury of some samplers, a lap-steel guitar, a Microkorg and a whole lotta intimidating looking stomp boxes. Here he is with my goose.
interview with Blue Sausage Infant / Chester Hawkins         1:51:11 (Pop-up)
Thanks to Jeff and Chester for the excellent sounds today! And thanks for all the studio-side expert knob-twiddling to Scott Konzelmann, my hero

  3:36pm
Chris from DC:

I know, right? Had my eye on a real nice place to move into once it was empty.
  3:39pm
Parq:

The Drunk Elk track sort of brings Eno to mind. which reminds me, did anyone make the Warm Jets tribute show in Brooklyn last Saturday?
  3:40pm
Cheri Pi:

This song is funneh. Stooges meets the Cure.
  3:46pm
pierre:

(is BSI going to make comments ?)
  3:51pm
BSI:

  4:40pm
Handsome Harry:

We had an "automated DJ" sort of software at my old college radio station that went by the name of "BSI-SIMIAN." It was well-behaved the majority of the time. Nice set.
  4:41pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

bring it to CLE Chester
  4:41pm
glenn:

mrs bsi, or should i say mrs hawkins, i was l looking forward to cheaper gas.
  4:42pm
Parq:

Hah, good news. Thanks, guys. BSI, I'm all ears.
  4:44pm
Mrs. BSI:

  4:44pm
Harold:

This set is flabbergasting.
  4:47pm
Mike East:

Sounding great!
  4:48pm
pierre:

I'm enjoying this, while eating a nice "bœuf bourguignon", and that goes well with it.
  4:49pm
Carmichael:

Scott, I hope you're using the Listener Carmichael Stuidio A live board.
  4:49pm
glenn:

4$ a gallon is cheap. we're at 1.28 a litre so....... 1 gallon = 3.78 litres, 1.28 x 3.78 = 4.84$. on the other hand, i don't have to take out a bank loan whenever i go to the emerg., so i'm okay with it.
  4:49pm
Ike:

Nice!
  4:50pm
Scott:

Carmichael, I believe you mean the Studio B live board. Currently working the True Chip Til Death Studio A Board
  4:51pm
Cheri Pi:

I wish I was at home with a cold beer in my hand instead of my cubicle-but there is NO WRONG PLACE to enjoy BSI.

  4:53pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

in the armpit of America, zeromoon
  4:53pm
Carmichael:

Am I B? So confusing in this modern era. I'm still understanding 4-track.

Anyway, BSI is AOK!!
  4:54pm
zeromoon:

  4:58pm

  4:59pm
PAS:

Nice job guys. Awesome to hear this and knowing we went to Panna 2after
  5:00pm

  5:01pm
Mrs. BSI:

  5:02pm
BSI:

electrolysis con carne?
  5:04pm
BSI:

coming back after some wicked mouse-clicking. Whassis about greyhounds and cleveland and shaving cream? Sign me up dammit!
  5:05pm
Mrs. BSI:

I think I may have signed you up to tour up to Cleveland and Chicago....
  5:05pm
Ike:

Panna II has its moments but last time I checked, Baba Hut and Sri Ganesh's Dosa House (both in Jersey City near Journal Sq) were better. Actually Indian food overall tends to be better in NJ than NY for some reason. Also check Aroma in Montclair.
  5:06pm
Scott:

Hey BSI & zeromoon, thanks again guys! Really sounded great
  5:06pm
Carmichael:

Are you talking about Panna II in the East Village?? I would strangle my sweet, loving mother to get at some Indian food that good!
  5:06pm
BSI:

infinite thanks scott(s), and huge thanks to the goose, without whom i feel oddly and terribly alone...
  5:07pm
zeromoon:

tip of the hat to you scott (& scott)
  5:07pm
Scott:

the feeling's mutual my friend
  5:09pm
PAS:

Yes THE Panna II! We had some delicious ndian after the Blue Sausage FMU assault!
  5:09pm
Goose:

I am the Hyperawesome Goose of Love. Gilbert Gottfried, you can suck it.
  5:11pm
BSI:

I'm sure there may be better curry in NYC but I've got about 25 years of history with that place, so it's like crawling back into the womb, to go there. The decor certainly makes it seem that way...
  5:12pm
Ike:

That's true, Panna II's decor is definitely one-of-a-kind. Another nice one: Sigiri (Sri Lankan) in the E. Village. Oh and that goose is a real stalwart.

Great show Scott!
  5:13pm
PAS:

That goose is kick ass! I think the goose should do it's own noise set next week.
  5:15pm
Ike:

(Nice in terms of food, not Panna-like classically wacked-out colorful decor.)

(And that would be a pretty strange womb, BSI. I like it. A mutant Xmas-themed robot womb with dancing miniature traffic light nanobots. Yeah.)
  5:22pm
BSI:

Ike: I've discovered Malaysian this year, got one superb place in DC but must find one in NYC next time I'm up there. If you're hep, what's good up there? eh?
  5:24pm
Ike:

Not too many excellent Malaysian places in NYC, but I like Sanur, downstairs at 18 Doyers St., and Overseas on Canal St. Also try Upi Jaya, a good Indonesian place in Elmhurst/Jackson Hts., Queens. What's the place in D.C.?
  5:26pm
Matt:

Place called Nonya in Little Italy that's great Malaysian. In NYC, I mean. Great set, too.
  5:30pm
BSI:

Malaysia Kopitiam, on M street @ 18th. I'm no expert but hell, it's excellent.... the curry gluten (with the rocket-fuel chili sauce, which is the red mud of gods) was the dish that did it for me. Getting hungry...
  5:31pm
Carmichael:

20k windows died on me. Switching ...
  5:34pm
20k:

Been raptured. Bye all! Tell mom I love her.
  5:38pm
Carmichael:

OK, back in time for Uzi.
  5:39pm
Mrs. BSI:

Scott - I'm bashful to admit that this is the first time I've listened to your show (Chester is always singing your praises) but DAMN I like your music choices!!!
  5:39pm
BSI:

YOU! Back in the box!
  5:40pm
BSI:

ahem..... uh......
  5:41pm
Mrs. BSI:

pbthththththththth

:-P
  5:42pm
Ike:

Good thing about Malaysian food: Even the mediocre Malaysian places around here seem to all have yummy roti canai, the appetizer of the curry gods. I could scarf down roti canai until I'm as round as a bowling ball.
  5:54pm
Roti Canai:

We're Carberrific!
