Самоцветы – Там За Облаками
  7:19am

Там За Облаками = there, behind clouds
  7:19am
Andy in Nova Scotia:

Greetings from Nova Scotia! This song is also known as Farewell to Nova Scotia in English, and it probably has different words... I'm going to look this up and get back to you...
  7:24am
Jelbo the j elbo:

wow thanks for the Russian help !
  7:31am
Andy in Nova Scotia:

My best guess on the Acadian version of Farewell to Nova Scotia is this: The "Farewell..." song in English was supposedly written around WW1 by Anonymous is about the typical theme of men leaving to go to sea but always wanting to return to beautiful Nova Scotia. The Acadian version seems to be about the 1763 Acadian expulsion by the British when this earliest of French settlements in North America was finally conquered and vanquished. Some of these people wound up in Louisiana (Cajun folks). The tune is familiar to most people here, and there are many thousands of people of Acadian heritage in the Maritimes. So they appropriated the tune and turned it into a cultural bemoaning of the expulsion, so it seems. But the google translation of the first stanza seems a bit off but enjoyable anyway:
You're long gone, maybe you wasted your time
To be found on the pavement as beer to decide
  7:33am
Andy in Nova Scotia:

I don't know about anyone else, but I've never found myself on the pavement as beer. Anyone?
  7:34am
Jelbo the j elbo:

I once found beer on the pavement.

Jelbo the j elbo:

My comment screen has gone blank on my supersecret fmu--dj-only playlist editor. All comments have been deleted on my screen, but I pray this means the commenters themselves have not ceased to exist (along, horrifyingly but potentially) with the entire world outside of the studio I find myself alone in right now.
