Listener comments!

  3:03pm
Cecile:

Hola, Scott!
  3:05pm
Sandy in Houston:

hi!
  3:05pm
Scott:

Yo Cecile!
  3:06pm
Scott:

Hey Sandy!
  3:06pm
Cecile:

I'll have to bail for a bit in a few minutes, but this ia a great chaser for Britny Fox.
  3:07pm
dc pat fc:

wow skull defects does not suck.
  3:07pm
don:

got me some shitkickin $28 cowboy boots yesterday, scott.
got em stompin to the skull defekts.
  3:07pm
Ike:

Great start! Cleansing the palate.
  3:08pm
Cecile:

I like Clay's shows. They remind me of the weirder nighttime shows on my local AM station - the uneasy mix of prog and pop. Takes me back.
  3:10pm
Cecile:

The station would be tightly formatted during the day, but get vaguely free-form at night
  3:12pm
Sandy in Houston:

Hey Scott guess what!!!
  3:13pm
ben drinken:

though maybe there would be at least a couple of minutes of banter with Clay and Scott during the transition. Is Clay still jibber jabbering away in the station while he cleans his stuff up?
  3:13pm
Board Reader:

Ok, I'm game. What.
  3:14pm
Cecile:

chicken butt!
  3:15pm
Sandy in Houston:

hah Cecile!
  3:17pm
ben drinken:

has anyone noticed flies being around now? all winter the flies are gone. I am always taken back by my first fly sighting in the spring.
  3:18pm
Cecile:

For me, it's the first worm on the sidewalk.

On that happy note, see all'yall in a while.
  3:22pm
ben drinken:

signs of spring: motorcycles, worms, flies, guys with mullets and no shirt on, pale white lard ass legs in short shorts, people trying to get their gas bbq grill started, dog poo all over because dog owners just let their dogs poop in the snow all winter thinking they don't need to pick it up.
  3:22pm
Scott:

what sandy?
  3:22pm
schizflow:

a worm on the sidewalk is at the brink of destruction. it narrowly escaped drowning in the mud, only to lay there for birds, boots, and the cruel sun
  3:25pm
Sandy in Houston:

My guitar/bellydance duo is touring the Northeast & will play at Silent Barn on Monday the 25th!! !!!!
  3:26pm
worm:

there are quadrillions of us. specieswise, we'll get by.
  3:27pm
Scott:

oh, awesome! will def try to go. everyone go see sandy at silent barn on the 25th.
  3:27pm
Ike:

@Ben Drinken: guys w/mullets and no shirt and lard-ass legs?!? Where are you? In the NYC area, the revealing spring clothing tends to be more... ah... pleasant.
  3:28pm
ben drinken:

cigarette butts all over the ground, too. right along with the dog poo.
  3:29pm
BSI:

mmmmmmm......... ass-legs.
  3:29pm
paul:

never. gets. old.
  3:32pm
βrian:

Sometimes I wish I had a visual lyrics feed, with a little bouncing ball helping to keep track.
  3:33pm
fictional dog:

nice set today
  3:35pm
ben drinken:

if you live in an area where the transition from different classes of towns and neighborhoods is close and obvious you see these contrasting signs of spring, a short walk away from the mullets you will see wonderful gardens popping up krokus and classy people digging in gardens and enjoying the sun, some have pale lard ass legs too, but classier lard ass legs, maybe a colorful sarong on instead of daisy dukes
  3:36pm
upmarket and downmarket folks:

are we really that different? just sayin.
  3:38pm
Handsome Harry:

Frickin' fantastic intro on this Liturgy tune.
  3:39pm
ben drinken:

one thing though, that I have noticed about the dog poo. working class people tend to pick the poo up after the dog, middle and upper class leave it.
  3:40pm
schizflow:

instrumental metal>>>>>metal
  3:40pm
Bas, NL:

It's a bit like Neu! on acid, this Liturgy! I like it!
  3:40pm
dc pat fc:

I complain about dog shite all the time but really, there's hardly any around at all considering how many freakin dogs there are...
  3:40pm
BSI:

I pick up my dog's poo, and I have no class whatsoever.....
  3:41pm
Ike:

@Ben@3:35: Wow, such a thoughtful lyrical dedication to the lard-ass legs of the world.
  3:42pm
ben drinken:

no class, that's the way it should be.
  3:43pm
pierre:

BONJOUR SCOTT !
I just arrived and seeing Graham Lewis under the name 27#11 + the Monks + Moon Duo, well i regret to not have show up earlier > i'm gonna catch the time lost starting > NOW ! (thanks for you set)

Bonjour every listeners !
  3:45pm
old old brain:

hola! Toe Knee Chest Nut Nose Eye love you, toe knee nose, toe knee nose
  3:47pm
βrian:

Salut, Pierre ! Où est-ce que tu te trouves ?
  3:48pm
ben drinken:

love me some lard ass legs. and cellulite isn't a bad thing. love the legs and butts with a bit of the dimples going on. butt then I always like the before pics of people losing pounds than after,
  3:48pm
Sir Mix a Lot:

Yo, wut ben said. Word.
  3:49pm
βrian:

Wynkyn de Worde, even.
  3:52pm
Sir Mix a Lot:

WTF, it's "Word!" Play
  3:54pm
Fripp and Eno:

Been there, done that!
  3:54pm
fred:

@pierre: when are you back? I'll be scouting free/cheap shows for us (meaning Lucas, you, I and anyone willing) to meet in the coming days.
  3:54pm
ben drinken:

i miss when people said word and word up and such. now it makes me think of when cave people discovered language and came up with the first word ever spoken and like a spoof movie went around all excited saying word!!!word!!! and banging clubs around.
  3:55pm
Scott:

yeah, and sometimes w/ harmonia, eno
  3:58pm
dc pat fc:

SCOTT IS KICKING FUCKING ASS!!! WOOOOOO!!
  3:59pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Hi Scott! Just came inside from running errands. It's nice to be home and hear you on the ray-dee-oh. This Harmonia track is fun and noisy.
  3:59pm
ben drinken:

woooooooooooorrrrrd!!!!!
  4:02pm
dc pat fc:

I gotta admit I dig Skywave.
  4:03pm
dc pat fc:

but I have to get my 4 o'clock pretzels...
  4:08pm
BSI:

....would those pretzels come with a couple of pints of Sam Smith Taddy Porter? Hell, it's something for ye olde suggestion box...
  4:11pm
dc pat fc:

no...unfortunately. But as I stated earlier, I had enough brew last night for the rest of the week..
  4:13pm
BSI:

........a conversation which inspired great thirst, even at that early hour. A bit Pavlovian, sure, but I am an oaf at heart. ... an oaf.
  4:14pm
ben drinken:

@dc pat can you really make alcohol last all week if you drink enough of it in one day? time release?
  4:15pm
dc pat fc:

early?! 4pm is precisely the correct time to start digging in...
  4:17pm
dc pat fc:

ben: enough in the sense that if I even look at a beer right now, I'll boke...and I even went home 3 hours before the other guys...
  4:19pm
dc pat fc:

our bill at the Black Squirrel (from roughly 3:30 to 7:30) was $213 not including the tip. I don't know how much the flaming absinthe was..
  4:21pm
Brian in UK:

All hail Scott king of the beverage. On a recent trip to the hinterlands of west Wales I visited this small brewery & very nice it was too.
http://www.gwaunvalleybrewery.co.uk/
This is a pub that time is in the process of forgetting.
http://www.heritagepubs.org.uk/pubs/national-inventory-entry.asp?pubid=287
Timeless.
  4:21pm
BSI:

FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS BURN ABSINTHE!
seriously! ... terrible waste ...
  4:22pm
ben drinken:

dc pat, I don't think a beer ever looked bad to me, even after drinking 30 plus. take a nap and start all over again.
  4:22pm
?:

@BSI: dc pat sounded more like "absinthe of mind"
  4:22pm
glenn:

don't spend all your money on beer and absinthe.
.
  4:23pm
glenn:

save some for jameson's.
  4:23pm
BSI:

well i broke down & got me some 4:23 pretzels.
so...... terribly..... thirsty.....
  4:24pm
dc pat fc:

glenn: precisely my problem, 2 shots of Jameson mixed in there.
  4:24pm
fred:

@glenn: how true! Whisky deserves some too
  4:26pm
Brian in UK:

glenn are you ready for the dog joke?
  4:27pm
fred:

OK, I was late posting again. I would advise Laphroaig next time, peat is good medecine
  4:30pm
Cecile:

Not a Scotch fan. Yes, you can gasp now. Not a fan of that particular firewater.
  4:30pm
ben drinken:

more signs of spring: kids zipping by on homemade motorized scooters as loud as a crotch rocket motorcycles. doing wheelies and spins. wishful thinking signs of spring: a lard ass lady in daisy dukes zipping by on such a scooter
  4:31pm
BSI:

I'll have Cecile's. The Islay stuff pls.
  4:32pm
BSI:

CHRIST, i need to catch up on Grails. Last thing I have is the Burning Off Impurities LP, which is GREAT but this is further out...
  4:32pm
Cecile:

I like my beer, wine, gin, vodka, tequila with the occasional ouzo to change things up.
  4:33pm
DumbSchmuck:

All in one drink Cecile?
  4:33pm
Brian in UK:

Cecile you remember I mentioned to you about Andrea Arnold & Red Road, contemporary. Well she is about to make Wuthering Heights. Kinda strange move.
  4:33pm
unclepoop:

http://thesafewordisfascist.tumblr.com/
  4:33pm
Cecile:

no, not a fan of the Long Island Iced Tea, schmuck
  4:33pm
Or:

All in one stomach and one bloodstream
  4:34pm
fred:

@BSI: I second that about Grails
  4:34pm
glenn:

(whispering) jameson's is irish.
  4:35pm
Cecile:

Brian - the movie or the Kate Bush song?
  4:35pm
BSI:

come to think of it, there's still a bit of Bowmore 15yr at the house...
  4:36pm
glenn:

ooops. i missed fred's post.
  4:36pm
glenn:

yes, bring on the dog joke.
  4:36pm
ben drinken:

15 yr gone in 15 seconds. then scream your fifteen mins of fame on the street and on youboob.
  4:37pm
fred:

Islay is the place for me (though Japan has great stuff too)
@BSI: aargh! there's no Laphroaig left in the house, birthdays suck that way
  4:38pm
spaceman:

nice show today. loving it
  4:39pm
Scott:

thank you, spaceman
  4:39pm
Brian in UK:

@ Cecile Bugger Kate Bush if you'll pardon the expression. The Brontes have it every time. The point is going from the here and now to something that has been done so many times; what can you add?
  4:40pm
Brian in UK:

GLENN My dogs got no nose. (over to you)
  4:40pm
kiemzi:

x2! great show today, as usual! thanks scott!
  4:40pm
Cecile:

I agree. You would almost have to do it with giant robots, or punch and judy puppets or in Pig Latin and even then you'd knnow the story...
  4:41pm
fred:

If you who like whisky can get some Karuizawa, I highly recommend it (the peated kind is rare but awesome, the sherry is good though not my kind of poison, but my brother swears by it)
  4:41pm
Scott:

Oh, wow, and thank YOU kiemzi
  4:45pm
glenn:

how does he smell? (knowing the answer, already)
  4:46pm
Brian in UK:

Terrible
  4:47pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

I'm so glad you're playing Steely Dan. I've had the Royal Scam album on heavy rotation lately. And I'm not ashamed to admit it! Haha. Plus, this song is so pervy!
  4:47pm
Cecile:

Steely Dan, so skeevy. All their songs are about dope and underage girls.
  4:48pm
Scott:

this is the perviest fucking song ever written! and you can play it on the radio, yayyyyyy
  4:49pm
Cecile:

I know! They know what they're doing...
  4:49pm
pierre:

@ Brian : Hi, i'm in Paris right now
@ Fred : i'm coming back on Monday, and i'll be happy to come and have another fmu meeting !
  4:49pm
Brian in UK:

Scott I was just about to write that we never know what will come next and you're proved it with William Burroughs best mates. You're the bomb.
  4:49pm
Skirkie:

I find I get bored with Steely Dan within the first 40 seconds of all of their songs.
  4:50pm
kiemzi:

ew, what a creep-o this steely dan character is.
  4:50pm
Skirkie:

Except for 'Any Major Dude Will Tell You' of course.
  4:51pm
Brian in UK:

Bonsoir Pierre
  4:51pm
pierre:

aaah that kebekelectrik tune, i know i'm at the right place.
  4:52pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Cecile, you say "dope and underage girls" like it's a bad thing! haha. Anyway, isn't this the case with so much rock-n-roll? I mean, what band is writing about recovery and old ladies? Hmm, that could be interesting now that I think about it...
  4:53pm
pierre:

Bonsoir Brian in the UK, how's the UK ?
  4:53pm
Kevin:

I dunno, 'Cousin Dupree' by Steely Dan is pretty perved too... 'how's about a kiss for your cousing Dupree?'
  4:53pm
BSI:

Ovaltine and pensioners! RAWK!
  4:54pm
pierre:

CONTRIBUTE !
  4:54pm
Cecile:

No, it's not a bad thing at all. But for such a clasy-sounding band, it's funny how lowdown their lyrixs are.
  4:54pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Kevin, that's only illegal in *some* states. hahaha.
  4:54pm
fred:

@pierre: there's a free show @instants chavirés on 4/19, but I can't make it (dance show). Fred Frith is playing there on 4/22, you'd better book if you want to get in.
  4:55pm
You Know...:

Sometimes silence is a genuine contribution. Think about it!
  4:55pm
Cecile:

it's just the contrast of the style. Also, the Dan seem to have no shame in saying "we like 'em young."
  4:55pm
ben drinken:

signs of spring: Scott has to go do something, he says
  4:56pm
Brian in UK:

Well, Pierre it has been beautiful today, I'm guessing so is Paree.
  4:56pm
Outdoors:

HI SCOTT wink wink
  4:56pm
Detroit Mac:

Steely Dan was Victorian slang for a dildo.
"Nasty, nasty, nasty...only 13 and she knows how to nasty," F. Zappa.
Shows you what working at Screw will do for you!
  4:57pm
glenn:

maybe the donnas should do a tribute album to steely dan. they're not underage anymore, though.
  4:58pm
schizflow:

bad sneakers and a pina colada my friend/stompin' on the avenue by radio city with a/transistor and a large sum of money to spend
  4:58pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Cecile, good point! Finicky production values don't necessarily equal clean livin', in this case. Wipe the shine off the surface, and you get a whole lotta filth. I like that!
  4:59pm
Brian in UK:

Rather disturbing how much grist Dan Outre generate.
  5:00pm
pierre:

thanks for the advice fred
  5:00pm
Cecile:

they are like the aristocratic yet debauched wealthy family of rock
  5:01pm
Brian in UK:

Bonsoir tout le monde
  5:01pm
Cecile:

And I can take them by the teaspoon full. One song at a time's great.
  5:01pm
ben drinken:

i don't know how i can drink a pile, cook dinner, do work, help kids with homework, and also comment on this thing. must be a multi tasker but I can only concentrate on one thing at a time. like 15 minutes or seconds.
  5:03pm
schizflow:

someone check his oven for children
  5:04pm
Outdoors:

or his kids for lioquor
  5:05pm
Cecile:

or the home for work
  5:06pm
ben drinken:

anyone up for some baby back ribs?
  5:07pm
spaceman:

god damn right
  5:07pm
glenn:

there was a comedian, i forget who, who did a routine about banned books for children. my favourite was "the magical land inside the abandoned refrigerator"
  5:08pm
Bad Ronald:

Diggin' this Frankie Rose track Scott, thanks!
  5:16pm
ben drinken:

the sun is coming out again and it is for some reason magically warmer outside the house than inside!!!! sign of spring.
  5:16pm
fred:

@pierre: tickets are going fast. I won't book because I have some privileges there and if I can't get in Charlene Darling is having TG playing @bouillon belge so I can't lose
  5:17pm
Mike East:

having some stream issues here...most likely internet issues on my end. This is bullshit! - enjoying the show otherwise.
  5:18pm
pierre:

i enjoy charlene darling's music to! She actually played some discs at a party alongside with me, she's really nice.
  5:23pm
fred:

@Mike East: all is fine on my side (128k stream) which one are you listening to?
@pierre: Charlotte rules! TG rereleased her last record on tape recently and she gave it to me before I could buy it. She also has a pretty neat band called La Ligne Claire, check them out on FMA!
  5:27pm
Mike East:

yeah, 128k. I wouldn't be surprised if something's wrong with the network. The I.T. guy was in today so that usually means more problems...which seems counterintuitive, unless you know where I work.
  5:29pm
Ike:

Try Flash, AAC+, or Ogg. Those all eat less bandwidth so maybe better when yr netwk is wobbly.
  5:29pm
fred:

IT guys are usually bad news, they'd be the first to tell you that, especially on Mondays and Fridays.
  5:29pm
Tom ( The Bactrian Support Network ):

my 2 coffee cans and string network , Never a problem.
  5:32pm
Frisco Kid:

Mike East, I feel your pain. Often when I come to work on Mondays the computer is all screwed up because IT pushed software onto it over the weekend. Way to "fix" what ain't broken, guys.
  5:38pm
fred:

@frisco kid: badmouthing your local IT guys on a public forum probably won't help.
  5:38pm
Mike East:

Wow. Its nice to know its not just me. Thanks for the tip, Ike.
  5:40pm
IT Guys:

Our software tags all inputs to workplace keyboards of the character-sequence "IT" for our personal review and any necessary follow-up.
  5:41pm
dale:

a fine set. i thought i was listening to rhizosphere for a second.
  5:42pm
fred:

@Mike: I quite often run into buffering hassles, switching to AAC or OGG quite often does the trick. Otherwise I make sure to contact the stream team.
  5:45pm
ben drinken:

i am making hamburger dogs. sometimes you can't decide if you want a hamburger or a hotdog. this is both.
  5:46pm
kiemzi:

oh wow! sick to the back teeth is awesome!
  5:47pm
Scott:

yes yes yes he is
  5:49pm
BSI:

praise!
  5:53pm
dc pat fc:

Guess I was wrong--I could look at a beer... And drink it...
  5:55pm
ben drinken:

yes dc pat. you can drink the beer. even if you need to put a bag over its head.
  5:57pm
dc pat fc:

oh well, what are ya gonna do? (gluglugluglug...)
  5:59pm
ben drinken:

does the beer have a big lard ass? if it doesn't have a great face put the beer bag over it, delish!!!
