Handsome Harry:

RobotBoy:

Scott, how long have you had a show on WFMU? I notice your playlists go back to 97... I was but a chirpling in middle school back then.
  4:38pm
Scott:

Yeah RobotBoy, that's when
  4:39pm
Brian in UK:

@ Robotboy. Scott jnr is in high skool now I believe. Isn't that right Scott.
  4:39pm
RobotBoy:

Yeah? I thought the playlists just went back so far. I think Ken's go back to 1996... didn't he probably have a show before then? Someone should write a book on WFMU, man.
  4:40pm
Scott:

you referring to my goose there, Brian?
  4:41pm
Brian in UK:

You bet Scott.
@ Robotboy. What would that prove. THIS IS FREEFORM
  4:43pm
Brian in UK:

To define is to destroy the essence.
  4:44pm
bennett4senate:

booooo! put it back on 33!!!
  4:44pm
Ike:

Depends on the DJ, RBBoy. One or two DJs, e.g. Dave Mandl, kept electronic playlists before there was a World Wide Web. DM posted them to Usenet. I was on his e-mail list and got e-mail playlists after each show, I think. Dave Mandl and Ken's shows go well back before such things, I think. Late 80s maybe?

Great show Scott!
  4:45pm
RobotBoy:

Like you wouldn't read it. It would top the NY Times' bestseller list! At least for borderline Aspies like me.
  4:45pm
Scott:

Yo Bennett! Thank Ike!
  4:45pm
don:

yo scott. ya, man.
  4:45pm
RobotBoy:

  4:53pm
don:

and how are things with you and yours?
  4:53pm
RobotBoy:

Hehe. All the drugs, groupies, and run-ins with the law. Plus the fact that WFMU is really a CIA front. Hey, they took Rockefeller money once! Hiss! Boo!
  4:56pm
Scott:

All good, all good Don, thanks
  4:58pm
MuttonChops:

  5:03pm

  5:28pm
Bas, NL:

Yesss!!! Kendra Smith!!! Big fav of mine!
  5:29pm
Scott:

oh yeah, Bas! I remember hearing this on fmu all the time in the mid-90s
  5:30pm
Bas, NL:

I think i heard this song some years back on your show and i bought the CD right after! Haayy, hoooo, heeeyyy!!
  5:31pm
Scott:

oh, nice!
  5:37pm
RobotBoy:

That's the problem with WFMU. You actually hear stuff you haven't heard, which motivates the music obsessive types like myself to collect, collect. The commercial radio plays the same five Bruce Springsteen songs over and over, never have to worry about hearing anything new from that.
  5:41pm
Handsome Harry:

Love this one by Tom Zé.
  5:42pm
slugluv1313:

YES! btw -- any idea what Kendra Smith is doing these days? all searches seem to say the same thing -- she has been living in the woods since mid-1990s. etc. -- anyone have any more recent news???
  5:43pm
don:

fucking whoa!
  5:50pm
MuttonChops:

This Sabertooth is growling. That is a Cougar to another feline.
  5:50pm
BSI:

RAWK!
  5:51pm
Bas, NL:

Scott W on slide..
  5:56pm
MuttonChops:

Rod me baby!
  5:58pm
JJ:

Rod ruined that song Taj Mahal for me.
  6:01pm
Bas, NL:

Too good, too short.. Thanks Scott.
