drr:

Bread and butter?
  11:20am
Parq:

Nobody in Comment Land this morning? Well, I'll start 'er up. You were talking about Arcade Fire on the Grams earlier. My FB friends include many hopeless mainstreamers who all felt compelled to note that they had never heard of Arcade Fire. How embarrassing.

  11:24am
drr:

so, what did the Newbeats want? Not thet they're getting it.
  11:25am
seang:

Hey!
  11:34am
Parq:

The price of tickets is just one of several reasons why I don't go to major label shows any more.
  11:35am
Richard from Venezuela:

Good weekend all.
  11:36am
Richard from Venezuela:

Baby trashes bar in Las Palmas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cds7lSHawAw . One ticket to hell.
  11:37am
Red:

Elvis Costello: not worth that much money for a ticket. Reigning Sound ticket price: Worth it
  11:38am
Peter:

@Richard - I'm pretty sure II went on a date with that girl.

@ Red - Amen.
  11:39am
pp:

Every song I hear from Arcade Fire reminds me of the New Zealand band The Verlaines.
  11:42am
Brian in UK:

It's hard to do a bad version of this great Gene Clark song.
  12:02pm
Juke Joint Jonny:

a fake Rick Rubin trip, except Rubin poops more taste than Jack White will ever have.
  12:03pm
Sean R:

Re: new Wanda Jackson album
Where's Dave Edmunds when we need him...
  12:04pm
Nanker:

Truth is Wanda Jackson's current voice is but a shell of what it was. She has to be at least 73 yr old by now.
  12:05pm
Peter:

@JJJ - I disagree.

"Van Lear Rose", which White wrote for Loretta Lynn, is friggin' awesome.
  12:09pm
seang:

always thought this tune sounded like "the hills are alive" instead of "the Israelites"
  12:16pm
Bobo:

What does Van lear Rose have to do with how bad this is?
  12:29pm
JRF::

Flashback! The Newbeats want shortnin bread backstage.
  12:34pm
DeemerDave:

Michael, you need to chill. If you don't like the Jackson/White collaboration, fine. They are artists and should be encouraged to experiment. Don't get so uptight about it.
  12:37pm
Mongol:

Yes, how dare people have opinions about cds
  12:39pm
Parq:

If it's not to late for this topic, I'd like to predict that we will soon be as tired of Jack White's ego as we are now of Bono's.
  12:41pm
DeemerDave:

Mongol:
That's not what I said at all.
  12:44pm
Jaygee:

Yeah, I went to the Wellmont box office for Elvis Costello tix and they were sold out. Ended up getting crap seats for $$$ online. WTF? Wellmont is still cheaper than the Beacon shows, tho.
  12:50pm
Nanker:

2 thumbs up for The Dead Milkmen!
  12:52pm
DG:

Wow, I haven't heard this song (PunkRockGirl) since they used to play the video on MTV (eons ago). And the New Cars were surprisingly good. Is that Todd doing the Ocasek-inspired vocal?
  12:53pm
Bad Ronald:

Nothing wrong with calling out crap!
  12:54pm
Jaygee:

Right on about Arcade Fire AND Sonic Youth!
  12:55pm
does anybody know:

Did Wanda do the record voluntarily?
  12:58pm
noah:

Great show!
