as far as raw milk, I think you can still get it if you really want it - like here in NY state - for mass consumption they have to pasturize it, but you can buy raw milk at farmers markets. The French had the same issue with cheese and pasturizing (sp?)

well, the state of wisconsin was contemplating the sale of raw milk, making it actually ok to do. they set this "working group" up to discuss the ramifications. turns out out of the 15 people on the group, more than half were from the dairy industry and were already standing against the law. sad sad sad.. now it's illegal to sell to the public even through cow-shares. wisconsin of all states!

Re: Warren Storm. Saw him live in '78 at Gilley's (the country super-club later made famous in the movie URBAN COWBOY) during a record company junket to Houston TX. He'd been playing professionally since the mid-Fifties if not earlier. When we met the next day for an interview, Warren told me he'd never been interviewed or ridden in a limousine before that weekend! He was fairly astounded that I knew about his playing on records with Lightnin' Slim and other Jay Miller artists....Storm has since played everywhere from New Orleans Jazz Fest to Lincoln Center as drummer and vocalist with swamp-pop revivalists Li'l Band o' Gold.

When the Louisiana blues man's band got drunk and failed to show for a scheduled studio session in Crowley, producer Jay Miller recorded Tabby "a cappella" on a selection of traditional English folk ballads. This material went unreleased for years because Miller thought it wouldn't be accepted by Tabby's core audience.

Re: Saunders King. The Bay Area blues man is Carlos Santana's former father-in-law. Carlos divorced Saunders' daughter Deborah in 2007 after 34 YEARS of marriage; he married drummer Cindy Blackman on 12.19.2010 in Hawaii.
