Every show starts with the ’70s! We’ll rediscover forgotten rockers, revisit unfairly maligned disco beats and replay power-pop favorites. Next: plenty of new releases, occasional live bands and more. Don’t let the nickname confuse you.

I may not be able to tear myself away from my work to post again, but I must say hello.
Oh, who am I kidding. I probably won't be able to tear myself back to my work.
Cold enough for ya, Joe?

SF Spike, thanks for the geographic identifier, lest we think you were a different Spike! Empty Sky is great, I'd forgotten how much I liked that album.

And yes, I am working. Dang these evening classes anyway. That's why it took me so long to get around to this comment.

I will take/consider requests, but in the interest of managing expectations I don't often get to them.

Mike - have you listened to the station before? Unlike fundraising marathons that suck, the FMU one is something special and fun - it starts the 28th and goes for 2 weeks. It ends with a 40-or-so song spectacular feature scores of FMU personalities playing and singing yesterday and today hits and misses.

Good night :)
@Mike - dig on in - there's about 10 years of archives of pretty much all the shows on FMU. Listen at different times and you'll hear any type of music imaginable. Don't like what you hear? Check back in a couple hours. Too many departure points to mention but Terre T's show is awesome 3-6 pm eastern time on Saturday, Bill Kelly's teenage wasteland is excellent 3-5pm on Sunday and of course the FMU prodigy Keili who's Beastin' the Airwaves show is on at 6-9am on Sunday :) But seriously that's but a sample - throw a dart and you'll hit a different brand of goodness on FMU.

The history of the station is amazing in and of itself though and is worth a read.
And the people really are amazing around the station. Brilliant folks, many who are tops in their field in their "day job", yet it's very open and respectful of even a shlub like me who has no such pedigree.
:)

I find the "math" problems we have to do cruel and unusual punishment. It is a tribute to EFD that I struggle through them to post comments.
But no, alas, I'm a mathematician. I do know my birthdate though. I think.
(I actually always forget my son's birthdate, to his great amusement.)
