Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from January 28, 2011 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

from a 5-cd set of Voyager "recordings," marketed to the new age set.

"These recordings come from a variety of different sound environments:

1. From the interaction of the solar wind with the planet's magnetosphere, which releases charged ionic particles within a vibration frequency in an audible range (20 - 20,000 Hz).

2. From the magnetosphere itself.

3. From trapped radio waves bouncing between the planet and the inner surface of its atmosphere.

4. Electromagnetic field noise within space itself.

5. From charged particle interactions of the planet, its moons, and the solar wind.

Don:

My Dad is working in Egypt. Ooops.
  1:21pm
bryce:

jooooooe!

al jazeera's pretty much the only tv news i can even look at a little bit around here
  1:26pm
Ike:

Yeah, I was impressed with AJ-English when I saw it in Thailand. A bit more coverage of U.S. stuff than BBC, maybe. Too bad American cable systems are (presumably) afraid to carry it. So I just avoid TV news.
  1:26pm
bryce:

yup
  1:28pm
bryce:

don, totally forgot about that! where is he?
  1:31pm
al jazeera:

American cable systems are horrible nothing but American Idol, Jersey Shore, Sarah Palin and anything else that has to do with anything really stupid like that.
  1:33pm
perrin:

good to be back after a while. I think the gain is wrong, I have my speakrs set to +20dB :-)
  1:34pm
perrin:

Dead Corporate Eyes:

it is very quiet. you have to listen hard if you're at work
  1:35pm
bryce:

hey!! i was actually just mentally wondering aloud about you. hence the years.....

it's *really* low-freq stuff. aww crap, i hope it's not getting filtered at the encoder.......
  1:36pm
perrin:

@DCI - don't worry, I understand the concept of dynamic range. and I know bryce does, and I know some musicians know too

@bryce - I have a pretty good sub, and there is not that much low end
I HATE MP3!!!!!!!!! Linear PCM or Death!!!
  1:36pm
Don:

Cairo! Whoooo!! His phone and internet are off! I hope the government will concede defeat soon. Horrible scenes.
  1:37pm
noah:

I have the speakers low. I turned my attention to other things, thought the stream had died!
  1:38pm
Rory:

No way Bryce! Symphonies of the Planets! I have this on cd. It was the most expensive cd i ever bought.

  1:39pm
Tom ( The Bactrian Support Network ):

I sooo miss my old system now with my Janis subwoofer boo hoo hoo !!!
  1:40pm
?:

I have a crappy subwoofer in my office, and this track is rumbling along nicely, thank you.
  1:40pm
Ike:

Hmmm, I wonder if extreme low end is better via FM; can't get FM signal at the office.

@AJ, if you dig, emeralds are hidden in the coal, e.g. last night Archer was hilariously perverted. The Daily Show may be the best TV source of media criticism anywhere. Parks & Rec and Community are a riot (technically broadcast, cable not strictly needed). That's just last night.
  1:42pm
bryce:

aw crap, that blows. this cd in particular is extra boomy. objects are literally rattling all over the room here. fjjjj

rory, can't believe anyone else has this!! wasn't exactly marketed to the music crowd......
  1:46pm
B-Dubs:

We are not in the least afraid of ruins. The bourgeoisie might blast & ruin its own world before it leaves the stage of history. We carry a new world, here, in our hearts. That world is growing this minute".
  1:48pm
Egypt:

That makes things so much easier on us, B-Dubs! TYVM!
  1:49pm
Rory:

Bryce, It was fairly easy to get it's on Amazon i think they might still have it there.
  1:50pm
bryce:

oh no way — never even looked! well, shows you how much i know. thought it was just an the early/mid 90s thing...
  1:50pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I first heard this last summer while sitting around a bonfire--I kept thinking a train was going by in the distance...
  1:51pm
Rory:

I'm in to space things so when i so when saw that they had the voyager recordings on amazon i had to get it.
  1:55pm
nic:

this is so great !!!!!!!!!!
  1:57pm
ex:

this is best you can get ease and set mind into meditation

Marmalade Kitty:

is it a love letter, Bryce?????
  3:00pm
B-Dubs:

@ EGYPT. My post was not a case of empty sloganeering. True,a quote from a dead anarchist does not help the Egyptian ppl,but then again, both of us are listening to a free form station, commenting freely on the internet while we are either working or loafing around...not sure how much THAT helps. I recognize my privilege & i work towards a better world with that in mind. That said, i find the support of resistance be it by posting a link to a reliable news source & yeah, the occasional cliche quote vital to linking us to each others struggles.
  3:01pm
Rory:

See ya bryce
  6:39pm
Egypt:

@B-Dubs -- Thanks for nominating us for cannon fodder to your sense of self-importance! We really appreciate the thought!
