Ike, do you remeber Damian at WHFS. He's the one who continued to do his radio show, despite the speech impediment after suffering a brain injury in a car accident. His father owned WHFS and wanted to remove Damian, but his fans rallied to his support. (Am I remembering this correctly?)

Oh yeah Doug, how could anybody forget Damian? He moved over to WRNR in Annapolis, which was never quite as good as the old HFS. Not sure if he's still there. As a heartless teen, I sometimes grumbled to myself, "I can't understand this guy AT ALL! Why's he talking on the air?! Equal opportunity, phooey!" But when I heard the story of the car accident, I reconsidered.

A Disc Jockey's Christmas Eve / Herb Dotson? There was no such person. I was an out-of-work radio reporter. A Chicago friend of mine worked for the head of Stacy Records and said I could get some "advance on royalties" money from his boss if I would record a couple of poems he had written years earlier. I said "No" because someday my name and reputation would be shot for making such a terrible recording. He came up with a fake name, and I came up with a fake country-sounding voice, and until this moment it's been a big secret. Sales of the record, I imagine, have also remained an even bigger secret!
