  7:14pm
cb1:

Settlin in for a fine show. Greetings, Mo.
  7:16pm
sugarwolf:

Hello! I am thankful this weekend is over & I got out of work in time to hear the superstars of Sunday evening, Gaylord and Monica.
  7:18pm
dave:

5 songs in and this show's already a winner.
  7:20pm
cb1:

Damn can that Ms Wms sing or what?
  7:20pm
monica:

CB1, s'wolf, and dave (who's counting?) - great to have you here. Any gustatorial pleasures these pass few days? Fess' up, I sure packed it in...
  7:21pm
heath:

Cant lose with Nina anyway
  7:21pm
Don (trip dub):

And I thought Joan Baez' was the penultimate version
  7:22pm
texas scott:

wait.you got earl grant?!
lemme guess...imitation of life?
  7:24pm
monica:

howdee, heath - agreed.... Don (trip dub)- penultimate is fightin' words!...T'Scott - swingin' gently....
  7:24pm
FMUidot:

Wow! Awsome thanksgiving weekend. The kids came over and I cooked a dinner that couldn't be beat. Really it was that good. I had to work Saturday, but all is good. It was the busiest Saturday ever. Somewhat suprising in the auto industry.
  7:26pm
monica:

FMUidot, that sounds swell. Did Plato have a potato?
  7:27pm
seang:

Hi DJ Monica, Thanks for the tunes! I think the Flash (beta) audio stream might be down
  7:27pm
cb1:

You know how cb2 cooks - It was bacon and eggs for breakfast, prime rib for lunch and leftover prime on a portobello mushroom with parmesan for dinner - and Bosco got the bone - who's a lucky boy?
  7:29pm
FMUidot:

cb1 it doesn't sound too healthy in the long run
  7:31pm
cb1:

There WERE tons of veggies, too - and hell, it was a holiday!
  7:34pm
FMUidot:

Your right. The holiday gives you a free pass. Really.
  7:34pm
Ted Leonard:

Oh, my. We just remembered to tune in. The whole family has been napping after maybe too many early cocktails with a certain noon radio man taking up the slack for his holidaying partner. Jeff! Play the live radio! It's Monica time already!
  7:34pm
cb1:

Thanks. It was back to oatmeal the next morning.
  7:35pm
Parq:

Hi gang. Mrs. Parq is cooking tonight, so I am free to lounge on the puter. Enjoying this Eno/Cale, remarkably pop-sounding for them.
  7:36pm
seang:

Man I love this song!
  7:37pm
diego:

just back from visiting brian in LON xx
  7:38pm
Jeff M:

Mmmf. On it.

I love me some Eno, whether he's playing with Daivd, or John, or by himself, or even producing those pretentious U2s.
  7:39pm
dave:

this thanksgiving involved a marked lack of tofurkey. i'm a little cranky about that, but i'll live.
  7:39pm
FMUidot:

Any LI listoners out there?
  7:40pm
sugarwolf:

Oh! This is one of my favorite songs ever! I used to play it 20x in row, surely annoying my college roommate.

I wonder how many of the buildings have been renamed.
  7:41pm
Jeff M:

I'm a distinct turkey un-fan. I'd generally prefer that a meal, even t'giving, be turkey free unless the turkey is exceptionally prepared.

We were fortunate enough to have some nicely moist and unusually lemony-tasting turkey chez the cousins we visited.
  7:42pm
FMUidot:

I have off Monday and am planing a serious mountain bike ride. Any takers?
  7:43pm
monica:

hi there, seang. thanks so much for the heads up. will alert the tech gods that be...CB!, that sounds amazing...Ted Leonard, mmmm, cocktails! Tell your pappy to serve you some Loco Kola or whatever that crzy caf/booze concoction is...Parq, lovely to hear from you, Butter sends her love...Diego! Welcome back, m'dear...Jeff M - agreed! ...dave, no you won't live. tofurkey now! I love dark meat m'self...S'wolf, which track?
  7:44pm
Jeff M:

That sounds bouncy and dangerous, possibly with heavy breathing. I'd prefer to do anything of that description sans bicycle.
  7:45pm
FMUidot:

Jeff M, I guess your not in
  7:47pm
Parq:

Mwah. Back atcha, Miss Butter.
  7:49pm
Don (trip dub):

What's the secret of cooking a turkey in plastic without it melting onto the meat. What bag is even big enough to hold it. A real cooking question.
  7:50pm
diego:

listening upstate with friends at dinner (cavolo nero pasta)
  7:50pm
Hernán:

Hi Monica and everybody! nice music as usual! thanks
  7:51pm
texas scott:

the jameses
dog faced hermans
soft moon....
damn.you slappin' it down!!
  7:52pm
Hernán:

Hola Laura!
  7:53pm
FMUidot:

Don. Why would you even consider cooking a turkey or anything else in plastic? I mean, what the...
  7:56pm
fleep:

Don: With Reynolds oven bags, I just looked it up on eHow. The hardest part is luring the turkey into the bag, but they really like dried corn.
  7:56pm
Parq:

For the record, I went to a restaurant last Thurs. A French restaurant. Did I mention that Thanksgiving is not my favorite holiday?
  7:57pm
Jeff M:

Yeah, Monica's rocking outish. Cool!

As for turkey in plastic - dunno about the whole bird. If you extracted hunks of meat, you could vacuum-seal them in reasonably-sized bags and do some sort of fancy sous-vide preparation (you've got a lab-grade immersion circulator there at the house, right?) but I dunno about a whole bird.
That low-temp stuff will give you a pretty interesting quality to the meat (and keep it nice and moist), but it sure won't put a nice sear on the skin. You'd have to fry that up separately.
  8:00pm
sugarwolf:

Monica: New York USA
  8:00pm
fleep:

Whole Bird
http://www.ehow.com/how_2129500_cook-turkey-bag.html
  8:00pm
Don (trip dub):

Thx fleep and Jeff M. I thought it might look like a boil-in-bag rice. But they put this reynolds plastic thing in the oven and there a specialty turnkey bag the size of a 30-gal leaf bag.
  8:02pm
Jeff M:

I don't trust it.
  8:02pm
FMUidot:

Allright. Not too many takers on the mountain bike thing. Alright. Are any of you sport bike riders? LI would be the best local at this short notice. I got a GSX650F that just wants to go.
  8:03pm
laura:

hola hernan!
  8:03pm
monica:

Jeff M knows from whence he speaks, folks! A gourmand and a mixmaster of note...Parq, French? Really? What did you have????....fleepoh man, haven't heard reynolds bags reffed in a minute...Hola, Hernán...T'Scott, slappin' it up at down....diego, where upstate you at? was just up there..
  8:04pm

A gawker like us.

Who do ya gotta sleep with,to get a drink around here?
  8:15pm
FMUidot:

Well alrighty than. I see nobody on the boards this week is into mountain biking or sport bikes. Maybe next week? Or not.
  8:16pm
Parq:

Cassoulet, Miss Mon. I figure it had fowl in it, close enough. Mrs Parq and the Parqette both had the turkey.
  8:17pm
Jeff M:

There may be someone. But I'm more into my sport couch. And the high-speed racing stereo.
  8:19pm
FMUidot:

Cassoulet. Do you have a great recepe?
  8:20pm
Hernán:

MONICA: YOU´ RE KIND OF MOTHER MARY DJ!!!
  8:20pm
Jeff M:

Oh, yum, cassoulet! Miz Kathryn has been known to preserve her own duck confit for use in cassoulet and duck hash and such. One of the many many reasons I love her so. And carry a bit of a belly.
  8:22pm
Parq:

Tonight's dinner is ready. Will see everyone around. Radio stays on, of course.
  8:22pm

  8:32pm
fleep:

My heart needs a shower now.
  8:33pm
Don (trip dub):

Luv Screamin Jay w/ tophat, cape and skull topped walking stick.Just like Pickett kept the energy up all the time. On Thanksgiving, Ford sings "He whispered 'sweet peas' to my soul."
  8:35pm
Hernán:

Monica : When will you come to see the patagonian whales?
  8:35pm
caribou bellunciaga:

...When God Dips His Potato chip in My Onion Dip.
Betta not be any doublin".
  8:37pm
texas scott:

ken's gonna be high!
  8:37pm
FMUidot:

Well maybe or maybe not. Daytime temps are still in the 40's I would probably still choose shorts. A few muinits into a trail I wouldent want much more. It sounds like like you might be interested.
  8:42pm

  8:43pm
dave:

oh man, "the way you look tonight" is one of my very favorite songs, and this is one of my very favorite versions -- it's a close race between this and sinatra, and that's saying something.
  8:43pm
listener gary:

The Dinning Sisters ! It must be dj Monica! ...I'm listening quietly tonight.Must be the restrained playlist. Best.
  8:44pm
Hernán:

Hernán:

  8:46pm
cb1:

Lorraine reminds me of Genya.
  8:53pm
Jeff M:

Kath said she was making that '70s cafeteria staple, Beef Stroganoff. I ambled into the kitchen, expecting to find her hard at work with a can-opener and some Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup. Instead, I see some sort of tableau involving fresh mushrooms, cartons of heavy cream, lordy knows what-all else.

This here cafeteria's all classed up.
  8:55pm
monica:

CB1, yep a big ole voice!...thank you, Hernán!...listener gary, so good to hear from you. hope you're having a good one...dave, i'm with ya there, pally...aww, Chris! great to hear from you. thanks for the memories...texas scott, agreed,,,
