Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from November 19, 2010 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

I only heard the Tibetan Buddhist Rites from the Monasteries of Bhutan when it was reissued on subrosa a few years ago and it immediately made it to one of my favorite recordings of all time. I wish more of Levy's work was readily available. As far as I know, it's not.

dave in vermont:

i love annea lockwood!-havent heard anything by her in years-thanks for reminding me
  2:31pm
postmanpaul:

Hi Bryce, an ornithologist on BBC radio 4 slowed down a recording of a nightingale so that the human ear could detect each note; it sounded like a whale. I wandered if a recording of a whale speeded up would sound like bird song?
  2:31pm
Mary Wing:

Warm and wirey, yes.
  2:33pm
tim:

Did Annea have to go in the cage to record the tiger or did the tiger go to the recording studio?
  2:33pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I have to turn this down a bit so people don't think I'm weird
  2:34pm
bryce:

me too
  2:34pm
Mary Wing:

Now my computer is making NSFW sounds, heh.
  2:35pm
Ike:

Studio cabinets?! At FMU?! Ha ha! Downside to cats -- not very portable! Too territorial.
  2:36pm
bryce:

ken brings his dogs
  2:41pm
Ike:

Dogs are portable. We need a new cat-dog hybrid. Cats' independence, soft fur, cleverness, dignity, and lack of slobber with dogs' portability and territorially adventurous spirit.
  2:49pm
Ike:

...but we'd probably just end up with a drooling obsequious pizza-stealing barker that hides in wirey cabinets, gets indignant easily, and smells horrible when wet, so never mind. ;)
  2:50pm
bryce:

you just described the fmu dj
  2:51pm

Heh! I saw some of those people at the record fair!
