I used to work in a movie theater and when the film went off I would have to run up to the booth to see if the projectionist was on it and I often would be greeted with a bunch of "SHIT!"s and "FUCK"s while a whole reel of film was unwinding to the floor. I would say, "Hey! The film went out!"...knowing what response I would get: panicked huffing and a big smash.
