I asked for it because my girlfriend at the time liked it. Wikiwiki says David Essex had 19 top-40 singles in the UK. I didn't immediately recognize any of the others in the list, though.

	7:43pm Detroit Mac: It was Don Kershner's Rock Concert. I went to a taping (as I was dating a gal who hung with Steely Dan, before they hit big). By the time they got around to SD over half of the audience had headed home, so the production people had everybody move close down front to make it look like a crowd was there (but it was only a few hundred folks by then).
	7:43pm Don (trip dub): Solomon Burke really performed while sitting on a kings throne. Saw him at Tarrytown a few years back with the Uptown Horns backing. He was being recorded for an NPR show that Ruth Brown hosted 'Blues Stage.' By meir bist du shain. Please let me explain.

He's so little that he was scurrying along below where my gaze was aimed and I didn't see him 'til the last moment.
