Listener comments!
Alex:
It just may interest you to hear that I bought my first record today. Because of WFMU I decided that it really would be worth my while to get into listening to vinyl, so at a yard sale today, I picked up a copy of the Easy Rider soundtrack.

The oldest LP i have in my collection (i mean, i bought at the time) is The Sound's From The Lion's Mouth. I still enjoy this band, they had such a peculiar alchemy.

They never really took off this side of the pond.
Noel in DC:
1st record I bought: The Clash by the Clash. Still remember hearing the opening chords of "Clash City Rockers."
With regard to the Monkees, I, too, used to watch that show everyday. Their movie "Head" was quite swellegant as well.
As for 8-track: I knew a guy who had the Sex Pistols "Never Mind the Bollocks" on 8-track. Or at least he claimed to have had it.

Noel in DC:
I remember the only reason I got that Clash record was the cover. My mom was in a record store getting something (I forget what), and I saw the Clash LP in the front of a bin. I dug the cover, bought it, and thank god I did.
As for the Sex Pistols 8-track. The guy who had it owned a record store I went to. Apparently, he and a friend were driving through Arizona, and he popped in the Pistols 8-track. His friend hated it so much that he jerked it out of the player and threw it out the window. My friend grabbed the guy's Bruce Springsteen 8-track and threw it out the window.
