  9:10am tim from Illinois:

Hey Joe,
My wife and I are going to be in NYC this week. We're stoked to see you, Todd-O-Phonic and Dave the Spazz spin at Maxwells Friday night. It's already the highlight of our trip.
WFMU listeners, what are your favorite joints for grub, beer and records?
  9:11am Joe B:

Hi Annie, Gary and BR! Glad to be heard! On next week in this slot, as well as having the honor of covering for Glen Jones Sunday.
  9:12am Marmalade Kitty:

Yoohoo!
  9:13am Joe B:

Hi Tim!

Cool! If you get a chance, the Greenhornes and Black Hollies will be at Maxwell's Saturday, should be one of the shows of the year!
  9:15am Parq:

Joe with my joe! What a great surprise. I'm just sorry I missed the intro. Tim from Ill, narrow it down to what neighborhoods you'll be in.
  9:17am Bad Ronald:

  9:19am Joe B:

Hi Parq, Kitty, SeanG, thanks for tuning in.

Saw the Stooges Friday in AC. Needless to say, killer show! Though I see it was moved to a smaller venue in Boston.
  9:20am Gary Mitchell:

Hey Tim... Academy Records in Brooklyn is a good place to start for slabs o' wax.
  9:21am jerry:

could use a holiday in waikiki.or anywhere for that matter!good morning from hackettstown.
  9:22am Joe B:

Hey jerry! Aaaron!
  9:26am tim from Illinois:

Parq,

I'll be staying in Flat Iron in Manhattan. I'll be around from today through the weekend. I'm planning on tooling around quite a bit. I'll be heading to Brooklyn on Thursday to check out a couple breweries.
  9:26am anemone:

Joe, what's the bed music? Love the show!
  9:27am yer fan:

hey joe, good to hear you. miss you.
  9:27am Parq:

Tim, there's a bunch of great record stores around the intersection of Bleeker and Carmine in the Village. A block or two away, up Bleeker, is Risottoria, a great place to eat if you're into gluten-free, or just if you dig risotto.
  9:30am Gary Mitchell:

anemone - bed music is Jack Nitzsche "The Lonely Surfer"
  9:32am SmokinJ:

Hey Joe! Great to hear you on this hot hot day!
  9:32am Parq:

Flatiron! My nabe! There's an Academy Records store on 18th Street east of Fifth. On the same block, City Bakery has good eats. On Third Ave off 23rd is Molly's, a great Irish bar -- our daughter pretty much grew up in there. Near it is Rolff's, a sort of multi-European restaurant (formerly German) that, I'm told, is also a great place to drink. If you want to go all the way to First Ave, there's an ordinary looking pizza place near 22nd called Franks, that happens to have a great full-service Italian restaurant in the back. My favorite upscale restaurant in the nabe is Novita, on 22nd near Park Ave South, one of the finest Italian places I know.
  9:32am anemone:

Lovely stuff. Thanks, Gary, Joe!
  9:34am Joe B:

Tim,

some great shows this weekend. Unnatural Helpers are at Cake Shop Thursday and somewhere in Brooklyn Friday, Greenhornes at Mercury Lounge Friday, a Doug Gillard (GBV, etc.) project Bambi Kino Thursday at Bowery electric ... etc
  9:35am Parq:

Oh, Tim, one more - Uncle Moe's Burritos on 19th east of Fifth. Great food, great vibes.
  9:39am Marmalade Kitty:

Parq, you've got me thinking about food! can you recommend a risotto and accompanying dish? :)
  9:41am seang:

@Parq--Man, I love Molly's Shebeen bar--that place is so damn romantic with all the sawdust and redlights
  9:44am Parq:
