A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

I loved that Charles Burnett movie "To Sleep With Anger" because it showed a part of LA where people still had chicken coops and big gardens.

but small amounts of chickens doesn't stay small. The risk is worse than factory farms w/ big big numbers of small.

It's a tiny menu for breakfast and a smaller one for dinner. All local, organic when possible.
My husband had a pastie (not really a pastie, but more like deep fried shepherd's pie :P) and I had a fillet of cod that died happy the size of my forearm. The cook thoguth my fillet shrunk too much, so he gave us a whole 'nother one!
And those thick, squishy chips cooked in fishy oil. Sooooo gooood.

And it was indeed tasty. They disagreed with us that it was shepherd's pie "Well there's pork in there instead of lamb". I don't care, some piggy got into the paddock. You don't put mashed potatoes in a Cornish pastie!
Ah, food. Fun stuff.

it is probably the only craft magazine i've seen showing a caetano veloso record
Cecile:
That's what it seems like to me.
My husband will probably get one in a few years. He likes online comics and comic books, and that would be good for him.
I like new things. Like getting a record on the day it comes out. Or seeing a movie the first weekend it comes out.
Some people save up for new things, and brown bag their lunches. That's fine.

And oh my, Sylvia Plath.
We need a modern Sylvia Plath to set us all straight.
Meanwhile, here is a funny link concerning the iPad. Simply put -

That's too funny.
But, Carm, seriously. Deep-fried shepherd's pie. That's what it was. They also have regular shepherd's pie on the menu, so I am not dreaming here.
I think it's like this great Jewish deli I went to in Libertyville, IL, a wealthy Chicago suburb. Their most popular sandwich is swiss cheese and pastrami. Which is so not kosher. But as the owners put it "What do you want? We're in Libertyville , for chrissakes!"
So they throw in some Shepherd's pie at the Anchor to cast the net wider. Pun not intended, but it works anyway.
Carm! Flight of the Conchords are playing Berkely at the end of May. Tickets for the Greek are going onsale tomorrow.
I was going to go but way too $$$ for me.

There's something else new I appreciate more and I haven't to cross the atlantic for that: each year ,in the begining of April, lots of different and beautiful birds (goldfinchs,swallows,wagtails...) are coming back to my home to live their love stories and they have really a great presence !
