Listener comments!

dc pat:

hey BobW. For those in the Baltimore area anytime soon, the wooden machine on the FMU homepage is probably from the Visionary Arts Museum there. GREATEST museum in the world. There are about a hundred of those little machines on display.
  9:30am
Parq:

Bananas Eat Girl = great label name
  9:30am
dc pat:

man, where's everyone? Getting over Easter hangovers?
  9:32am
dc pat:

oh, hey Parq
  9:43am
cheripi:

I just loooove carsick cars, can't believe they're in the fma, yeah!
  9:49am
Cecile:

Okay, "diffiult, controversial" Erykah Badu video.
Discuss.

Personally, if there hadn't been that exposition at the beginning, it would have been way more powerful.
  9:49am
cecile:

good song, though.
  9:56am
Cecile:

I'm grumpy. Tom Sawyer deal is one of the very few records on this station that I would say that I could do better than that.

But I know it's 'FMU and in two minutes, something will come on that will make me happy.
  9:58am
bobw:

i agree - i'd like to hear kid koala or rob swift work it.
  9:59am
Cecile:

Get out of my head! That would be amazing.

the gauntlet is thrown.
  10:19am
dc pat:

mmmm, veggie chicken...
  10:20am
marty:

what about Mee Noodle on 1st @ 12th....... i miss that place
  10:24am
bobw:

i LOVED mee noodle! but i'm pretty sure that there are a few other mee noodles still in operation. now i gotta get me some good chinese! oh, there's a joint on 6th st. by 1st ave. that serves veggie vietnamese, and they have a killer veggie pho!
  10:29am
Parq:

Hi, 'Cile, and a belated howdy back atcha to Pat. It's hell time at my office, but I'll still be lurking.
  10:29am
dc pat:

ah phuck! That's something I can't find in the DC area--phaux pho. I've never even tasted pho because I went veggie before I knew about it.
  10:31am
dc pat:

I tried to make faux pho once but people, I'll tell you, don't try to make a recipe when you don't even know how it's suppose to taste...
  10:32am
cheripi:

Thanks BW, I needed to hear this Cocteau Twins song today, you really made my day.
  10:32am
bobw:

the veggie vietnamese joint is called LAN CAFE. it's on "indian row" on 6th street. there's also a few new joints in the EV that feature non-meat vietnamese sandwiches - veggie and fish.
  10:33am
Mike L:

Love the Cocteau Twins!
  10:34am
Cecile:

wow, good old crazy Siouxsie damaged Cocteaus
  10:35am
dc pat:

Miss Saigon in Georgetown has good fake duck and really great lightly cooked veggies.

NOTEKILLERS!!
  10:40am
Carmichael:

Good morning Bob & ham-hungover people.

A new veggie Indian place just opened down the street from work. I shall check it out and report back.
  10:42am
north guinea hills:

Definitely a fan of most very be careful stuff.
  10:50am
Cecile:

That's cool, Carm.
We had hard-boiled egg curry last night.
  10:52am
Carmichael:

Wow, that actually sounds pretty good, even though I'm not an egg fan.

We took an in-your-face approach to holiday tradition by BBQing babybacks and chateaubriand.
  10:58am
Cecile:

My husband likes eggs, but not hard-boiled ones, and he thought it was pretty all right. I'll have to tweak some more.
  10:58am
GenericPlacebo:

EYE feel much better about it being Munda now
(the day slavery begins)—thankUveryMuch
  11:27am
Cecile:

where is a good place to start with Boards of Canada?
  11:29am
GenericPlacebo:

first album only!!!
the others were all remixes cept 4 twoism maybe
if you have turntables they are pretty good backwardss too
  11:33am
Carmichael:

I first heard some cuts from "Music Has the Right to Children" quite a long time ago. I thought the whole album was great, but I haven't paid much attention since.
  11:46am
MCSirch:

DAMN! Missed Very Be Careful! Play it again. Again 'n again!
  11:51am
genericPlacebo:

2 bad so many bands do that,
first album perfect, tehn watever
its a classic problem, fame and $$$$
  11:53am
Cecile:

Yes, because Boards of Canada are so huge. :/
  11:59am
Duke of Earl Grey:

I thought their 2nd album "Geogaddi" was great even if not quite as amazing as "Music Has the Right...." And actually, BoC *were* pretty huge (for electronic music), weren't they?
  10:58pm
will:

I think I love the band harangue. I hear glam, I hear fractured folk, I hear artrock, I hear the Ponys and I've never even heard the Ponys! Fleet Foxes should write stuff so challenging.
