It makes perfect sense if Dave Hickey was the one who said it first, but I never have had the privilege of working with him. The person in question is Jim Ridley, who for years was the film critic for the alt-weekly in Nashville, and now is the editor. I still maintain he is one of the best critics and writers I've ever read anywhere.
