Listener comments!

  12:03pm
Cecile:

Hi, Scott, congratulations on your yeoman fundraising work!

Could you play something by Rick (Ricky) Nelson. I don't care if you play it at 78, pour boiling oil on it as it plays, whatever.
  12:08pm
a visionary:

Has anyone ever put a heating element under a steel turntable and melted a record as it plays? Perhaps one could do it with a heat lamp above the platter? If anyone ever does such a thing I feel it will be Scott Williams.
  12:09pm
Cecile:

Yes. But it will have to be his own turntable, and he will have to have his own insurance rider. ;D
  12:10pm
a visionary:

Scott williams, the man whose radio program has made LSD obsolete.
  12:10pm
Hugo:

Ich liebe Schwingungen!
  12:10pm
dc pat:

...so back to Hausu. Can't find a way to get my hands on this film. Suggestions??

Hi Scott, congrats.
  12:11pm
Ike:

That is a great ScottWesque idea, Visionary.
  12:11pm
?:

more suicide club excerpts/songs!!! SW for president!
  12:12pm
Carmichael:

Or you could mash up Ricky with, say, David Lee Roth. Just thinking out loud.
  12:12pm
dc pat:

but what album would you use for this experiment??
  12:13pm
Carmichael:

DC Pat, IFC used to have Japanese horror movies on Friday nights. That's where I saw it. It always makes the rounds of these TV film festivals.
  12:13pm
?:

use sean casssidy's doo ron ron.
  12:15pm
Cecile:

I volunteer Kansas's Point of No Return
  12:18pm
Scott:

Hausu's soon to be a Criterion release, fyi
  12:19pm
Carmichael:

Playlist is not updating. Is this Wall of Voodoo?
  12:19pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Haha! You came through on your "threat" to name your show today after Tuesday's lunchtime occurrence. Nice one, Scott.
  12:20pm
dc pat:

d'okay Carm, thanks.

Wall of Voodoo and Ring of FIre?? Nice.
  12:20pm
north guinea hills:

I ended up torrenting Hausu.
  12:24pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

I love Los Dug Dug's! I discovered them on the Love, Peace and Poetry Mexico comp. Wheeee!
  12:24pm
MAC:

that last part was too record noisy even for me.
  12:25pm
Greg:

Woah, Scott's shooting at like 1200%. Nice!
  12:26pm
Gibby:

That last track interrupted my housemates 'getting it on' to ask what the hell was going on. Which was weird.
  12:26pm
north guinea hills:

Ahh, this Dug Dugs track is on the Love, Peace, and Poetry (Mexico) Comp. Very nice.

wait, Wendy beat me to the punch (waves tiny fist)
  12:29pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

North Guinea Hills, no competition here! Brilliant minds think alike :-)
  12:29pm
anne:

  12:33pm

  12:37pm
Jeff from St. Paul:

Could somene tell me which show had Jody Stephens in for an interview the other day?
  12:40pm
dc pat:

Hausu: http://cultcine.com/products-page/asian-horror
  12:41pm
LizGig:

Scott, what was the total raised?
  12:43pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Jeff, that was Joe Belock's show on Tuesday.
  12:45pm
LizGig:

Hurrah! I've been listening for only about 6 months, but the thought of a WFMU-free world was a very depressing one.
  12:48pm
Ghost of Ricky Medlock:

It is also my mom''s birthday - No kidding! Hooray for moms!
  12:50pm
Gibby:

Heh, thanks for the shoutout. Looking forward to that 28-minuter. Really liked that Low Red Center tune too.
  12:55pm
Jeff from St. Paul:

My moms birthday is months away.
  1:04pm
dc pat:

Man Scott, I'd be fine with sound collages all afternoon. This is amazing.
  1:06pm
Jeff from St. Paul:

I really want to crank this up at work, but I am nervous about some crazy spike in audio.
  1:07pm
Scott:

Glad you like dc pat! There's tons more where this came from on the FMA - follow the playlist link
  1:09pm
Ike:

¡Muy excelente!
  1:10pm
Hugo:

I never thought i'd get to hear Tonto again. Got it when it came out. This was truly pioneering stuff back in the day!
  1:11pm
Stormin Norman:

I've never even heard of this station before, I was just scanning through but now I cant turn it off!
  1:13pm
Scott:

Welcome Norman!
  1:15pm
Where everybody...:

NORM!!
  1:18pm
Jed:

you are freaking me OUT
  1:19pm
north guinea hills:

Ovo rocks!.

Scott, "running in place" came in handy the other night when i dj'ed at free103point9. You guys did an awesome job. Thanks!
  1:22pm
Cecile:

Norman, you will find that you will soon develop a love/hate relationship with this station, but ultimately you can't live without it.
  1:25pm
north guinea hills:

I've already mentioned this, but I've spent 3+ hours listening to "running in place" and am only 1/5 through side B.
  1:28pm
dc pat:

is anyone going to play the lockgroove album in its entirety??
  1:31pm
north guinea hills:

I've been attempting to, but i have to eat/sleep/work sometimes. I've also been fooling w/ the rpms (w/ my stunt turntable) and reversing every loop, which is why it's taking me so long.
  1:31pm
Jeff from St. Paul:

I made a $365 pledge during this Emergancy Marathon because I want that Lockgroove LP so bad. I can't wait to get it.
  1:32pm
?:

scott, there is a chance that you might be the king of giant land.
  1:33pm
Jeff from St. Paul:

Do you you mean World-4 in Super Mario Bros. 3?
  1:34pm
north guinea hills:

Jeff, you'll love it! : )
  1:37pm
Cecile:

yeah. Paul Di'anno lives!
  1:39pm
Looms (Fr):

This Iron Maiden track brings back old teenage parties memories... Haven't heard it for years, thanks!
  1:39pm
Listener Chuckles:

Thanks for the classic Iron Maiden, Scott! Steve Harris is a bass demigod.

Also, congrats to WFMU for doing so well on your Emergencython!
  1:40pm
dc pat:

I meant some one, like a Scott, from FMU playing it track by track on their show.
  1:41pm
Hugo:

Interesting question: How long does it take to play a locked groove record? Apparently, RRR Records in Lowell, Mass., is releasing a 1000-groove record. Sounds like one to get!
  1:42pm
Scott:

Wow, I'm surprised (and heartened) by all the Maiden love! Y'all need to see this documentary of their last tour, where Bruce Dickinson flies Ed Force 1 (757) and all the kids in Central and South America made me wanna cry. So great
  1:42pm
Scott:

Hugo, it's 1.8 seconds actually
  1:43pm
Cecile:

I'm not a Bruce fan, but their guitar players are spotless. But I love the world language of metal
  1:44pm
north guinea hills:

In 2002, RRR Records released a 500 groove one selected from the vault. My friend was delivering it to me from Kim's, when he decided to drop into a bar for a 4 hours, and the record didn't make it w/ him.

As Hugo pointed out, now they're releasing a 1000 groove lock groove record. Can't wait!

(Thanks Hugo)

Yes!, Gehalia Tazartes!
  1:46pm
Hugo:

Ach, AD der Zweite! Recognised the riff before I saw what it was on the play list. Is it easier to remember music than to remember names/titles?
  1:46pm
Ike:

Dang, I tuned out and then I missed Amon Düül II. But then I heard some Bettie Serveert elsewhere, so I can't complain too much.

I need to visit a friend with a turntable so I can play the locked-groove record!
  1:46pm
Looms (Fr):

God bless Ghédalia!
  1:50pm
Cecile:

ah, a Gods Gift compilation. Truly a gift from the gods.
  1:51pm
Jorge:

Hey Scott, im back in spain miss ya guys !
  1:56pm
dc pat:

yeah, that's more like it.
  1:57pm
Scott:

Jorge, was great to see you! Looking forward to getting together in Bclna next May. Or sooner...
  2:01pm
jorge:

I hope so, remember that im here to help in whatever you need.
  2:06pm
Hugo:

Thinking ahead to the Hoof and Mouth spectacular next year, can we expect a Les Rallizes Denudes cover w/Scott in charge of guitar extravaganzas? That'd be something! On second thoughts, not very realistic, is it? But the thought's interesting ...
  2:18pm
Brock:

Host,
Could you tell us listeners what the bed music is?
Thank you.
  2:20pm
Brock:

Thank you host.
  2:21pm
?:

scott, since you're taking requests, can you say the word "shoe-hat" on air?
  2:24pm
Jeff from St. Paul:

Scott, can you just refer to yourself as "Host" from now on?
  2:24pm
?:

thank you host
  2:26pm
Cecile:

Heavenly Host, or HH for short.
  2:30pm
