Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from September 18, 2009 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Hey Bryce! What's your feeling about playing evening ragas in the morning and vice-versa? I had a friend who "studied" Indian music once tell me you shouldn't do it, elsewise dire circumstances would result...

i was going to complain about how eating lunch was going to make me miss this beautiful raga, but I think, instead of lunch, I will nourish myself by drinking the sweet nectar pouring forth from my speakers

bryce:

BC, nice! hearing mr. g. in person is already moving; can't imagine it in the magical nm desert. that'll really be a lovely day for everyone.

hey jack,
didn't mean to be glib. i actually do feel weird not being faithful to "samay." my understanding is that while hardliners may insist on ragas' expositions at the proper time of day, there also are musicians who feel rendering one otherwhen is just fine and merely invokes that time of day's mood. in the end, since i only have these same 3 hours each week, i find i feel happier just presenting performances that feel the most special or emotionally satisfying to me personally and cross my fingers some classical doyen isn't out there bloodying their fists on their radio.

"FUCKING FMU PIGFUCKERS!!!!!"
