Listener comments!

  3:03pm
BSI:

Woke up this morning with the Lee Morgan track in my head already.
....would that be a pre-existing condition?
  3:04pm
BSI:

oh effing crap, and he goes right into one of my favorite roy harper tunes. ... very good day...
  3:05pm
Ike:

Hey Pearly, re: the earlier ginger beer taste test talk, try Maine Root brand It's even better than Reeds. Avoid the Ginger People brand, it's weak, like regular ginger ale.
  3:07pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Time for tea.
  3:11pm
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

I am not a number, I am a free man.
  3:12pm
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

What do you want?

Information.

You won't get it.

By hook or by crook, we will.
  3:13pm
annie:

ike, that is one i forgot about!! that is one of the top brews, too!
  3:14pm
Pearly Sweets:

I'll keep an eyeball out for it. The place around the corner didn't have a lot to choose from. The Reed's is good, their regular beer has a nice mild bite (but still a bite, not like ale) but you can also get their stronger one if you want a real kick.
  3:15pm
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

“Are you going to run?”

“Like blazes. First chance I get.”

“I meant -- run for office?”
  3:16pm
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

“I'm gonna escape and come back.”

“Escape and come back . . . ?”

“Ah, yes--escape, come back, wipe this place off the face of the earth, obliterate it . . . and you with it.”
  3:17pm
annie:

  3:18pm
Pearly Sweets:

Looking at their site right now. That blueberry soda looks amazing.
  3:18pm
Eric:

Upset I missed the sidewinder himself, Lee Morgan
  3:18pm
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

He has revolted. Resisted. Fought. Held fast. Maintained. Destroyed resistance. Overcome coercion. The right to be a person, someone or individual. We applaud his private war, and concede that despite materialistic efforts, he has survived intact and secure!”
  3:18pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Alright, Dum Dum Guy, I'll bite: it sounds familiar--which movie are you watching?
  3:18pm
Pearly Sweets:

Might have to make that drive to the whole foods later.
  3:19pm
Ike:

Thanks Annie. Yeah, Pearly, Maine Root is harder to find than Reeds. I first discovered it in NH.

DDG: "Questions are a burden to others; answers are a prison for oneself."
  3:19pm
annie:

deeelish, do call ahead. not many places carry it.
  3:19pm
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or Numbered. My life is my own. I resign!
  3:20pm
Ike:

That's one of the few things I'd go to Whole Paycheck for.
  3:20pm
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Unlike me, many of you have accepted the situation of your imprisonment, and will die here like rotten cabbages.
  3:20pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Network?
  3:22pm
The Prisoner:

me
  3:22pm
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

We understand he survived the ultimate test. Then he must no longer be referred to as "Number Six" or a number of any kind. He has gloriously vindicated the right of the individual to be individual. And this Assembly rises to you...
  3:22pm
Pearly Sweets:

Yeah, if the whole foods was closer I might be tempted to go there more often, but because I can get MOST of the stuff I'd buy there at the store around the corner for cheaper (still all organic too) I usually don't bother. But since today is soda enjoyment day, exceptions can and shall be made!
  3:22pm
annie:

funny, we had it in our store and it sold really well, couldn't keep it around, over in cooperstown, the stuff sat on the shelf.. i also had a chemistry student who also made soda for me...
  3:23pm
Jackie ny-ca:

Did you already discuss D&G ginger beer? "Genuine Jamaican." Spicy and good. Not too sweet. Not sure where you can get it. I got it in NY and Phoenix, I haven't tried looking for it since I've been in California.
  3:24pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

with all this talk of movies and soda pop, no one has said the word that makes Irwin's fans go wild...
  3:26pm
BSI:

mongoose!
  3:26pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

in fact, no one properly greeted our most gracious host...HI Irwin!
  3:27pm
Ike:

My local Stop & Shop carries two-liter bottles of D&G in the ethnic aisle, or did. Not sure if they still do. It's not bad. I think it has corn syrup though.

I've tried making my own ginger beer too, but it doesn't usually come out exactly right.
  3:27pm
annie:

jackie, it even has a Fb page..

Pearly Sweets:

What about Simon & Garfunkel's human condition?
  3:30pm
BSI:

so, uh, no mongoose then?
  3:30pm
PMD:

Here's a public comment.
  3:30pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

what comment list is he reading??

and no, uh, mongoose, BSI!
  3:31pm
Pepper Pot:

Burma!
  3:32pm
Ike:

DCE, The Prisoner is a classic cult TV show, not a movie, from 1967-68 starring Patrick McGoohan. That Roy Harper song title seems to have set off DDG.

I love Mates of State.
  3:33pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I see.
  3:33pm
Irwin:

Ike, I am here to serve at your pleasure.
  3:34pm
PMD:

Can you play Freebird?
  3:41pm
BSI:

Pomplamoose soonds dangerously cloose to mongoose.
  3:41pm
Ike:

Me-OW! Yowza yowza!
  3:50pm
Dong:

play national song korea?
  3:51pm
Carmichael:

Hi Irwin! Missed Fountains of Wayne, but that's OK. I'm sure the rest of the show will be ultra-dynamic.
  3:52pm
the day:

Remember the Contac ad with chorus girls in mini-length raincoats singing Button Up Your Overcoat?
  3:53pm
Irwin:

Dong in the house! Andy's house, anyway.
  3:56pm
Parq:

I missed FOW too, but I have been to the Valley of Malls. The Mission Valley section of San Diego is almost exactly what that song describes. The only missing element is a toll hiway.
  3:57pm
annie:

he is cause andy's gone out! hope you clean that mess up on the floor, dong
  3:58pm
Dong:

Andy no here. me boogie
  4:02pm
barteby:

c'mon your'e joking every library would have to be resequenced
  4:04pm
Spankyflop:

I'm waiting for alphabetical order to be changed to match the qwerty keyboard.
  4:09pm
bartelby:

maybe a subscription alphabet service so that if you used the alphabet or whatever resequenced ascii you would pay a monthly fee to the greeks and pheoncians. Unless the St. Cyril foundation could buy up the licensing
  4:12pm
Lizardner Dave:

Irwin, I think someone should update Andy's Facebook status right now while you're on the air so the damn FB suits know it's not you, as has been rumored. Or admitted on SSD, whatever.
  4:16pm
Irwin:

Poke Andy. He'll do it himself.
  4:18pm
Lizardner Dave:

"Andy has not received your last poke yet. He will receive it when he logs in." Oh, you BET he will. Wait, what am I saying?
  4:21pm
charlie:

I was wondering where to find more information on this proposed re-sequencing of the alphabet. How did you hear about this? If you could send or post the link it would be greatly appreciated.
  4:21pm
Parq:

Man, does "Snowflakes Are Dancing" take me back. I vividly remember when that album first came out.
  4:25pm
doug from DC:

Parq: so do I. I bought a CD copy a couple of years ago out of nostalgia, brought on when I heard Jack Horkheimer use it for the theme music for "Star Hustler."
  4:27pm
annie:

dave, i poked him... it'll take him another three weeks to notice..
  4:28pm
PMD:

A day without Amanda is like a day without sunshine.
  4:28pm
doug from DC:

Has anyone suggested an Amanda remix project yet? This would be a lot of fun to sample.
  4:29pm
Irwin:

Check Andy's FB page. I think he got the msg.
  4:29pm
still b/p:

It's a toss-up whether our little friend there or Mike Myers is the most keister-focused individual under the yellow sun.
  4:30pm
PMD:

A day without Shania is like a day without a divorce.
  4:31pm
annie:

he mentioned his short wife.
  4:31pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Down!
  4:33pm
Parq:

Still, that's brilliant! "Starring Mike Meyers and Introducing Amanda!"

Once again, I dissent from the anti-country remarks. Send a little Shania my way.
  4:34pm
PMD:

I was not at all anti-country. I think.
I like how Irwin squeaks.
  4:35pm
Ike:

That wasn't completely awful, but would've been a lot better with a more Dolly- or Tammy-style production sound.
  4:37pm
Gigantor:

Woo-hoo! Duke of Iron! How I've missed you, Muriel!
  5:04pm
Kevin in BayRidge:

Hoo-woo! ( Dyslexia rules!)

Just got through on the Flash stream. First time I've gotten live FMU at work in months. So it goes working for the big brotherish & bandwidth deprived man. But at least there is a job still here.
Irwin I'm glad the internet Red Sea parted for you. Like Lennie Bruce said- "Dead ringer for Moses!
  5:06pm
Carmichael:

Dyslexia lures!!
  5:07pm
Irwin:

OK, clam down, boys.
  5:08pm
PMD:

Irwin, no offense, but I'm nodding off. Something faster?
  5:12pm
Parq:

Ohh, *Pilgis* Enlarged! Man, I gotta get my eyeglass prescrip checked.
  5:12pm
Kevin in BayRidge:

leahcimraC,
I knew that was coming the second I posted!

  5:23pm
Ike:

  5:27pm
Lizardner Dave:

I just walked back into the office...has the Old Codger mugged Irwin?
  5:27pm
Carmichael:

I have the urge to dance like Curly.
