August 14, 2009: Willy Les Frank Uke Ike
It's a drag, since I am only on the air once in a while, that I have to do so many tributes to the recently deceased all at once. I played them while they were alive-- well, maybe not Cliff Edwards-- but had to do something for Willy Deville, Les Paul and Frank McCourt. Ukelele Ike/Cliff Edwards is another story: an icon from vaudeville and beyond, who still sounds good today. Hope you like it. Email me with comments: stevek@wfmu.org

Hi Steve I just played this Aug 14 (my anniversary) archive. Great stuff as usual. Great to hear that Joe Strummer track on the radio. And where else could I hear my art hero R. Crumb do his music "dang". thanks Steve, see you soon, Lou Russo
