Sure there's Billie and that's fine but what's with that modernized electric guitar folkie thing going on in a film showing life in the '30's(not to mention Krall's updated 'Blackbird')? Threw me off somewhat.

I like strange movies, thank you. Annie, Google-news "New Jersey" and all of the first hits will be about the arrests.

These guys are running a business, after all.

Sure there's Billie and that's fine but what's with that modernized electric guitar folkie thing going on in a film showing life in the '30's(not to mention Krall's updated 'Blackbird')? Threw me off somewhat.

	11:10am Parq: My own opin is that "Public Es" was very good for what it was -- a whoelly conventional, big-budget, big-studio Hollywood ganster movie, breaking zero new ground and offering zero variants or upgrades on the genre's standards. I like strange movies, thank you. Annie, Google-news "New Jersey" and all of the first hits will be about the arrests.

	11:24am Parq: I suspect that the Krall track and similar tracks were put in simply because they're popular. For every person who says "Diane Krall? Isn't that kind of an anachronism?", there are four or five (or more) who say "Ooh, Diane Krall, I LUVVVV Diane Krall, she's SO-O-O beautiful!" and like that. These guys are running a business, after all.
